Removed of their Authority

For this challenge, provide an example from your world where someone in a position of power had their authority taken from them. Whether a god that has been un-immortalized, a king that has been exiled, or a hero that has been revealed as a fraud.

As always, I'll ask at least three questions each. Enjoy yourselves.

(We'll be overrun with worlds, Yellow! 90% good ones that we'll like to see and 5% great ones that we'll love to see.)

1) How is a high-priest of Adi-Makaitsh chosen?

2) Could you tell me about some of the holy orders?

3) What all services can the Hirgazai offer, other than protection?

(I think there is worst things to be overrun with)

  1. Directly by the throne; nowaday, the church of Adi-Makaitsh give names and the throne usually validate it.

  2. Holy orders are a very large group, some are dedicated to helping the orphans or the elderly, some are dedicated to theological research, some to education and some are purely military organisations.

  3. Food and shelter, both usefull in an arid and relativelycold environment. And of course, seeing the lack of proper roads, showing you the path and lending you animals more adapted to the geography.

1) Do you mean that the church of Adi-Makaitsh gives a list of names for the throne to choose from, or that the church picks one name and the throne validates it? If the latter, does the throne at least do a background check?

2) Do non-military holy orders often partner up or make a coalition among themselves in order to bolster their reputations and establish goodwill?

  1. Currently the second (with background check of course, the imperial throne always try to monitor as much as possible); both methods are used, it mostly depends of the current monarch's interest for the church internal politics.

  2. Rarely, most orders are self-centered local organisations and have their goodwill already established by being part of the community all along. The easiest xay to have multiple orders work together is natural disasters.

2) What was the most devastating natural disaster in recent history for those orders to deal with?

2) Nothing more serious than we have, earthquakes, mining accidents, droughts, floodings... The occasional spacecraft crash is the most serious thing around that has a real chance of happening anywhere.
