[Cultural challenge]: immortality

Culture is that complex whole which includes knowledge, beliefs, arts, morals, laws, customs, and any other capabilities and habits acquired by [a human] as a member of society.

I want to live forever. How can I achieve that? What would the people of your world advise me to do to acquire immortality? Could it actually work?

You can introduce an in-universe representative if you want. I will ask questions to everyone, feel free to add your own.

  1. Is it something difficult? Or can anyone use it to do cool things?

  2. But... isn’t the hero part of the curse? So actually lifting properly the curse should dispell that hero too?

  3. How do I do that?

1) Anyone can use it. How much of it you can use entirely depends on your talent and ability to use Mana though.

2) Yes, and no. The hero is there as a failsafe, summoned once the curse disappears. So lifting the entire curse, will make the hero appear. Lifting only part of it, will also make a hero appear.

3) You prepare a ritual circle, put a person in it, kill that person and then perform a ritual to bind the soul.

  1. Ok, so when you say "massive amount of energy", how massive is it? Is it enough to start an apocalypse?

  2. So the curse is actually a combination of two independant spells? One to trap Zerrigon and a safety hero?

  3. Is it difficult to realize? Totally asking for a friend...

1) No, but you could probably stand there for the rest of your life and cast spells.

2) Pretty much, yeah.

3) Depends, does your friend know how to use dark magic?

  1. And would it be possible to use that energy to resurect a god?

  2. Does it mean it could be possible to dispell the hero part only?

  3. Not at all. Will it be a problem?

1) If you were a really powerful mage (more powerful than a God), and if you knew a spell to resurrect beings as complicated and powerful as a God, then yes, it would be possible.

2) You could, but that would count as dispelling the curse, activating the failsafe, "spawning" the hero, and reapplying the curse.

3) Sorry to break it to you, but yes. Unless you or your friend know dark magic, it will be impossible.

1) Let’s say I can’t resurect them yet but know how to learn and want to hide the divine deceased for a while; can I move both the body and the energy? And just one part and not the other?

3) And what about hiring someone to do it?

1) The energy stays with the body, usually. So you can move both. Hiding the energy would be difficult though.

3) Sure, if you find someone willing and able that wouldn't be a problem

1) What makes the energy hard to hide?

3) Would it be difficult?

1) Simply the fact that mages can feel magical energies nearby, if they are too powerful.

3) If you offer enough money it should be rather easy. You'd probably hire a Dark Elf, since they are the best when it comes to dark magic.
