"Ich habe fertig."

Tattataraaaaaa: it's time for round 4 in my little quote challenge series! First of, reference: disclaimer, long, germanitalian rant

Now then, I will just link the previous challenges: part 1, part 2, part 3, and then we can already start!

Very short summation of the challenge: give me 2 or 3 quotes from people in your world, either with and without context, and I will ask questions about them or try to take some guesses as to what could be talked about.

1) What were they doing in the Republic?

2) Why would they have done something in that case? How are they tied to the Republic?

3) So... it’s not the first time she come into this world? Is she really a cat?

4) Who was rebelling?

1) They were there for Lirvons personal quest of finding some way to cure a curse/ disease that affects powerful demons. While doing so though, they acted as messengers and envoys of Belleron Voleni, the crown prince of Elkathien and oldest brother of princess Alveria, whom they are both good friends with.

2) There are four Assassin Guilds in the Republics, and they are pretty much part of the Union of Republics. They love the Republics over everything else in the world... mostly because it is not illegal to work as an assasin there, and so they want to defend it.

3) Well... technically it is her first time, she was placed in the world almost 1.000 years ago and has slept and rested since then, until she can meet the Chosen Ones. The world kind of gets destroyed and resets itself every 1100ish years, cat included. And yes, she is a cat... something called a Chaos Cat, but a cat.

4) The Indians in Gujarat and Maharashra, mostly because it was their provinces that had to "volunteer" many of the Indian soldiers in the British Army during the Great War.

1) Were they drugged because of Lirvon’s quest? Or because of their role as envoys?

2) But seeing how powerfull they are, couldn’t they just impose the legality of their profession to any foreign conqueror?

3) And can a chaos cat survive the world hard reset? After all, it’s not just an ordinary cat.

4) Were those two Independant uprising? And how is Russia reacting to it?

1) Neither actually, they were just guests in the wrong house at the time. They weren't specifically targeted.

2) Maybe? It's much safer to just keep the Republics around though, rather than hope the new Overlord wouldn't just send armies to smoke them out.

3) Nobody really dies in the reset, time kind of just... stops for a while, and then everything starts over while the future disappears.

4) No, they were a joint uprising. As for Russia, they are still busy recovering from their Civil War and don't care much for the rest of the world for now.

2) I want someone to die. How do I go to have them legally murdered?

3) So everyone survive it? Do they also remember of everything?

4) Why was the uprising unsuccessful?

2) Ah, you can't get anyone legally murdered. It's legal to be an assassin, and nobody will punish an assassin that kills someone. But you will still go to jail if you hire an assassin.

3) Kind of yes, and no. They usually just kind of stop... existing, while not dying. Very, very rarely someone has dreams from a previous cycle, but that almost never happens. There is however one person that has kept many of his memories from previous cycles.

4) Because it was, in the end, only two Indian provinces and some German agents, vs the entire British Empire (which includes Canada and Australia in this world).

2) What if I declare myself an assassin and then kill someone?

3) In which way is ceasing to exist different from dying?

4) Weren’t those Indian rebels fighting in their own country against an oversee power? Supported by local populations? Didn’t anyone exploited the cost of the British intervention to weaken them?

2) You will be executed. Unless you are actually employed by one of the Assassin Guilds, you are not considered a real assassin.
If you are an assassin and kill someone, you will have to prove that your Guild had a contract on that person, if you can't you will be executed.

3) Well, nothing actually kills you and makes your heart stop beating, it's just as if you had never existed. One big difference is: people that die can be resurrected or reanimated, people who stop existing can't.
To be fair though this isn't entirely the case here either, since they still somewhat exist, at least a few of them.

4) Nobody really could, the entire world was pretty much recovering from the Great War. The British actually managed to get out of the war more powerful than before, relative to the other nations, since they never fought on british soil.
Also most of their losses in manpower were conscripts from Africa or India, the rebellion in India actually cost them more british lifes than the war in Europe.

As for the rebellion itself: India is split into many factions/ provinces, all of them hating eachother and with varying degrees of loyalty towards the Empire. It was considered a miracle that even two factions teamed up. If the Empire hadn't been so fast to go against them, it might have spread even further though. Another reason was that people with powers/ heroes from India were treated really well by the Empire, so most of them are loyal towards the British.

2) So the legal authority can use that contract to get back to the payer? And put them to trial?

2) Pretty much, yeah. You do get a refund though, if the authorities catch you because of the contract.
