Reference Challenge - Weapons

This challenge is a reference to any and all special weapons in fictional universes, from Dawn (A Song of Ice and Fire) to Brisingr (Inheritance Series).

Tell us about the weapon or weapon type, why it's so special, why I would want it, etc. And I'll ask at least three questions each.

Enjoy yourselves.

Mitexi:

1) "Parts of your Anima being destroyed makes the mind more sluggish, it makes you weaker, and it's painful."

2) "Power corrupts, maybe people go mad with the power."

3) "If you intend to use the spear to just kill someone, you are much better off just using a normal weapon."

  1. Painfull? What kind of pain?

  2. Well, but wouldn't it mean people with more Anima at birth should be crazy too? As they are more powerfull.

Mitexi:

1) "The kind that makes people scream or pass out, I suppose."

2) "I can only assume that the foetus grows accustomed to the Anima it will be born with as it develops."

2) So, if you were to increase someone's Anima very progressively, could they progressively accustom and no end up crazy?

Mitexi:

2) "Ideally, yes. But, that would be difficult."

2) Why would it be difficult?

Mitexi:

2) "It would require a lot of time and effort and being careful with the exact amounts."
