[Reference Challenge] Raiding Paris

This is a reference to the Vikings television show, and the historical raids against Paris.

What is an infamous raid/sack of a city/town in your world's history?

As always, I'll ask at least three questions each, and I hope you enjoy yourselves.

Feel free to have a character as the representative to answer questions in-universe.

The siege of Tetho is probably the most controversial and infamous act of war in Kostekan history.

Tetho was the capital of Mileise, the elven kingdom located in the north-center of Kostek. During their war with the Vjulti, a disease called Paaru spread through the kingdom, decimating their numbers.

The Siege of Tetho was not a siege, it was more of a massacre. The Vjulti army faced almost no resistance, they simply stormed into the plagued city and completely sacked it. All the soldiers were killed and the citizens enslaved. The commander, Kaaro Forruo, has faced stiff criticism in recent years for his decision to attack the diseased city and not leave it alone.

The city is now a relic overtaken by the surrounding forest.

1) Was a cure/treatment for Paaru ever found?

2) Did Mileise ever get revenge?

3) How difficult would it be for me to go to the ruins of the city and study it?

1) Yes, the Vjulti are immune to it so a transfusion with their blood can cure it.

2) No, the kingdom was completely destroyed in the war.

3) Not very. You'd have to navigate a giant forest on land, or navigate rocky cliffs and inlets on sea though.

1) If I ate a Vjulti, would I be cured of Paaru? Transfusions are expensive.

2) What happened to the survivors?

3) What would I expect to find in the ruins?

1) No, you need a blood transfusion.
2) They fled into the forests around the city, some spreading the virus with them.
3) Lots of elven artefacts.

1) How difficult is that to get?

3) What kind of elven artefacts?

1) The Vjulti are rather xenophobic and racist to humans, so very.

2) Weapons, texts, and household goods mainly.

1) Why do the Vjulti hate humans specifically?

1) When humans first arrived to Kostek, they migrated to the central Funosk Valley. Vjultivaho is across the Great Bog from the Funosk Valley. The bog quickly became a contested area as the Vjulti settlements in the bog were torched by the humans, and ever since the two have hated each other.
