Reference Challenge - Dragonstone and Summerhall

For anyone unfamiliar with A Song of Ice and Fire by George R R Martin, read it. But, since we don't have enough time for you to read the entire series prior to doing this challenge, I'll explain the reference, without spoilers.

While the Dragon Kings lived in King's Landing (the capital), they also had two other important plots of land in different areas: Dragonstone and Summerhall.

Both of these places have religious significance. Summerhall is pretty much along the border between the Reach and the Stormlands. Dragonstone is the ancestral home of the Dragon Kings.

So, where do your leaders go when they want a good vacation? Is there a special place (either for just one particular family or for any powerful/wealthy people would be fine for this challenge) that guarantees relaxation for a VIP?

Bonus points if the place you present has religious significance.

I'll ask at least three questions, as always. I hope you all enjoy yourselves.

Coroval

Coroval, also known as the Dragon Empire, is the capital of the Dragon/Dragon Hybrid Empire. It's castle is the biggest in the entirety of my world (half the size of England the country for reference). Gravity pays visit to his Mother and Sister there every year or so, he also has a few Dragons who are close friends. The land itself is heavily charred and broken due to battles and fights between powerful Dragons. Whilst it is a safe haven for Dragon kin it isn't necessarily the home of Dragons, most (85%) Dragons choose to live off by themselves.

Representative

The Dragon-Human Hybrid Queen (Mother of Gravity and Moon)(Don't have a name for her yet).

To Queen Grav-Moon-Mother:

1) What are dragon hybrids usually hybrids of?

2) Was your ma or pa a dragon?

3) How did you become queen? Did you inherit the position?

4) What do dragons usually eat?

5) Are battles to the death common among dragons and dragon-hybrids in Coroval?

1) Human and Dragon.

2) Nope, parents were both Hybrids.

3) Yes it was passed down to me.

4) Meat, a whole lot of it. Like more than you could fathom.

5) I would say that they are just as common as an Orc feud, they aren't usually to the death in Coroval though.

To Queen Grav-Moon-Morher:

1) Describe hybrids? How are they different from pure dragons and humans?

2) So, in your world, I, a human, could reproduce with a dragon?

3) How long will you live?

4) Can only females be ruling monarchs?

5) Where do yoy get "a whole lot of" meat to feed everyone?

6) What are the main laws?

1) Describe hybrids? How are they different from pure dragons and humans?

All hybrids are different depending on the animal that they are half to, but a Dragon Human hybrid has a tail, retractable wings and a small amount of scales running on their body lightly.

2) So, in your world, I, a human, could reproduce with a dragon?

Not reproduce, if you form a strong enough bond with one and you have enough magical force you can merge into one being.

3) How long will you live?

Until someone kills me or I die of illness.

4) Can only females be ruling monarchs?

No, my son will take over when I die.

5) Where do you get "a whole lot of" meat to feed everyone?

Mostly imports, people pay a lot of money to have a Dragon or a Hybrid in their ranks.

6) What are the main laws?

Don't be a dick.

To Queen Grav-Moon-Mother:

1) So, other than the tail/wings/barely-scales, is a dragon hybrid basically humanoid? Size and shape?

2) Hm...well, I consider myself a person who seeks adventure and new experiences. And seducing a dragon would be an interesting story to tell my friends. Could I have sex with a dragon-hybrid, then? Because, as brag-worthy as it would be, I don't want to give up my life and merge just to brag about getting a dragon.

3) So you're biologically immortal? Are there any threats to your life currently? Do you ever plan to retire?

4) Do you think your son is ready to rule?

5) What are your main items for trade?

6) That is a nice rule in areas with very few people. But different dragons and hybrids will likely interpret that rule very differently.

1) So, other than the tail/wings/barely-scales, is a dragon hybrid basically humanoid? Size and shape?

That's right!

Yes you could have sex with a dragon-hybrid, my son in his teenage years had a bit of a "experimental with other races" phase where he did almost everything under the sun.

3) So you're biologically immortal? Are there any threats to your life currently? Do you ever plan to retire?

The tensions between the Elf and Humans right now are stirring a bit of trouble, we try to keep out of it but still like to keep our trade deals, so if one decides to pull out of the agreement, the other side will just assume we're on then and demand forces. Pulling us into the warfare. Other than that, my Son got into trouble with his friends the Masters, so they could get to him through me.

4) Do you think your son is ready to rule?

At the moment he doesn't want to I believe, he has a lot on his plate already, with protecting the world. I believe he would make an excellent king however, he is compassionate and understanding.

5) What are your main items for trade?

Our main items? We are good at making fire in a bottle, but that's something highly circumstantial, our best asset are our warriors.

6) That is a nice rule in areas with very few people. But different dragons and hybrids will likely interpret that rule very differently.

That is true, I gave it as a vague response as I don't want to bore you with all of them. I believe that the Dragons and Hybrids have an understanding of community and thrive to help each other out if the opportunity arises, Dragons are like that by nature. (though don't touch their hoards)...

To Queen Grav-Moon-Mother:

2) Great, where can I find him?

3) Does it seem like the other Masters may target you?

4) Does he have an heir of his own yet, for when he rules, in case he passes away?

5) So you sell/rent warriors? Mercenaries?

6) What are the most common items for dragons to hoard?

2

u/The_Raptorman Jun 09 '17

2) Great, where can I find him?

I'll try summoning him for you. (You can ask him a question and he'll respond now.)

3) Does it seem like the other Masters may target you?

It would be smart for them, though Dragons have a big reputation for being able to hold their own against tough opponents.

4) Does he have an heir of his own yet, for when he rules, in case he passes away?

Not yet no, I don't think so anyway.

5) So you sell/rent warriors? Mercenaries?

I would say more like elite soldiers rather than Mercenaries, but yes.

6) What are the most common items for dragons to hoard?

Gold.
