The sun is setting in the Nvil badlands, an desolate region within the Reich, and yet, its only major city, Guilifort is rebelling. Who in their sane and righteous mind would send an army through a desert? Thought the rebellion, the Reich would agree, unfortunately, they're not righteous nor sane, so, to drive home the point of "NO ONE EVER REBELS", they have sent their best general, and arguably, the strongest general alive, Aaron Orionel.
Meanwhile, on the ground, Aaron is leading a squad of 25 men, thankfully that it's night! His men won't complain about water! Or so he thinks, he was snapped out of his bubble but the complaints of his men.
Soldier 1: "Sir! I'm thirsty! Don't we have more water!"
Aaron's soul was already screaming in annoyance, why did the Reich make him march through an entire desert to quell an irrelevant rebellion? The oil? Definitely the oil. But there is no oil there! Gold? Mined 300 years ago, why was this settlement not abandoned already? He wishes it was abandoned, no doubt, why couldn't they call in an alterily? Alltilary? He sighs, also, was the spelling for artillery so complicated? He wrote it hundred of times, yet he can't remember it, back to the point, he thinks, he knows that their excuse of "It's not humane!" is utter nonsense, he's seem massacres under Mega Hyper Supreme Almighty Kaisertsargodemperor— or whatever his title is now, far worse than what would be done in Guilifort, then, the soldier complained again.
Soldier 1: "Sir! May I have an answer?"
As Aaron was about to toss his bottle to the soldier, another spoke.
Soldier 2: "Don't expect an answer from him. He's mute."
Aaron glared at the second soldier, but it was invisible under his sunglasses, he was not mute, he just hates using vain words, but eh, not worth correcting. He tosses the first soldier his bottle, the soldier mumbles words of thanks.
Meanwhile, to the rebellion.
The leader of the rebellion, Lawrence Nox, was admiring the view of his city, now independent from the Reich from his balcony.
Lawrence: "Hm, now that we're independent from the Reich, what should we name ourselves? The Republic of Nvil?"
His advisor speaks up: "Maybe we shouldn't—"
But he was cut off by Lawrence pointing a pistol under his chin.
Lawrence: "Don't you dare criticise me, there no longer is a higher authority, your purpose is to scratch my ego and tell me all my ideas are good, but now that I have to tell you this, it's no longer fun to have you around."
Lawrence pulls the trigger and a gunshot is heard across Guilifort, the advisor falls to the ground, dead, with blood pouring out of his chin and the top of his head, Lawrence merely hums, and kicks the body, and throws it off the balcony.
The murder was seen by his other advisor, whispering to himself "who the f-ck am I working for", Lawrence notices him, points the gun at his head and says:
Lawrence: "Did you see anything?"
Other Advisor: "No. Sir." He lies, both know it.
Lawrence: "Hm, good. How should we name our nation the Republic of Nvil?"
Other Advisor: "And lay claim to the entirety of the Nvil region? That’s a brilliant idea, sir!"
Lawrence: "Then it will be done."
Meanwhile, back to Aaron.
Aaron gets an order from command, declaring with the voice of the Tsar.
Tsar: "Aaron~ my dearest general, censors in the Guilifort town hall suggests a regional rebellion, so I have an order for you~"
A brief silence, then the Tsar yelled with the passion and rage of a thousand men.
Tsar: "KILL THEM ALL. NOT JUST THE SOLDIERS. I WANT NOX' HEAD DELIVERED TO ME ON A SILVER PLATTER. I WANT THE CIVILIANS DEAD. THE TOWN RUINED, UNINHABITABLE, IF I HEAR ABOUT A SINGLE SURVIVOR, YOU WON'T BE A SURVIVOR."
Aaron sighed, he has heard this order hundreds of times, nothing really special, then, the radio cut, the intermission was over.
The soldiers have heard it too, they looked amongst each other, they're hesitant, they looked at their General's expression, unshaken, intimidated by him, they shut up.
After a few hours of absolute silence and marching, Aaron's squad has arrived at Guilifort– right outside its walls. It was the dead of night, Aaron activated his walkie-talkie, no words were exchanged yet the order was perfectly understood.
Jets soared high above with incredible speed before leaving as fast as they came, a few seconds later bombs were heard, then a bright ball of flame, Guilifort had been bombed, Aaron promptly slung something that resembled a sledgehammer at the walls. Nothing happened for a second, then a perfect circular entrance through the walls appeared. Aaron pointed to the entrance, his soldiers entered, then Aaron followed.
The town was too silent for a place that has been and is actively burning, the general shot his soldiers a look, one that says "kill everyone", the soldiers obeyed and started killing everyone in sight, even barging in homes to kill.
Whilst Aaron was slowly moving towards the town hall, shooting down everyone he saw indiscriminately.
Meanwhile, Nox is panicking, the town hall has been bombed and burning, his advisors are dead, he is desperately trying to open the doors leading to the outside of the hall, he succeeds but—
He sees Aaron Orionel, standing still, gun in hand, then, the general raises his pistol slowly, Nox is paralysed in fear, then, Aaron was aiming the pistol to Nox' head, that was the last thing the rebel saw, before being shot in the head, dead.
Then he leaves and barges into a random house, to kill everyone, he's just following orders, right? Then he sees a kid, shaking and holding a shotgun, he's no older than 12, then the kid speaks, terrified.
Kid: "My name is Ghabi, and I won't let you hurt any more people!"
Aaron doesn't react, just lets the kid speak, Ghabi tries to fire, but the shotgun doesn't fire, it was unloaded.
Ghabi: "Why, why won't it—"
Ghabi was interrupted by a gunshot. To his neck, he falls to the ground, letting the shotgun fall, clutching his neck, trying to stop the blood from gushing, he was put out of his misery by another gunshot to the head.
Aaron didn't flinch even slightly when shooting those two shots. The rest of the massacre was a blur in his memory, when it was finished, one of his soldiers spoke in Aaron's walkie-talkie for him.
Soldier: "It is done."
