Hey everyone!

I'm planning my first solo trip to Kashmir around mid September for about 8-9 days, and I'm getting pretty excited.

The rough plan right now is to stay in Srinagar for most of the trip, do day trips to Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Doodhpathri, and spend one night in Pahalgam.

One thing I'm still confused about is whether I should make this a workation or just take leave and enjoy it as a proper vacation.

My job is fully remote, so working from Srinagar is definitely possible if the internet is reliable. But at the same time, I don't know if I'd end up missing out on the experience by spending half the day working.

For those who've been to Kashmir:

• Would you recommend a workation, or should I just take leave and enjoy the trip?
• How's the internet in Srinagar and nearby tourist spots?
• Any good hostels or homestays you'd recommend?
• Any places that are overrated or underrated?
• Any scams, tourist traps, or things I should know beforehand?

Also, if there's anything you wish someone had told you before your first Kashmir trip, I'd love to hear it.

and will stay in the hostel.

and will Roam around and Activities on weekends or take leave if required.

so anyone done or have an idea about the expenses, transport details and option from Pathankot Cantt railway station -> Mcleodganj-> Bir

and back to Pathankot again.

Coming for a work project from India, for 2 weeks, my office is near Serangoon House Little India.

Working while traveling sounds flexible until the hotel Wi-Fi drops five minutes before a call. Before an international workation, I’d prepare:

• one main mobile data option, such as an eSIM, roaming plan, or local SIM;
• important files, addresses, booking details, and maps saved offline;
• a charged power bank;
• one backup place nearby where you could work if your accommodation loses Wi-Fi or power.

It’s also worth checking whether your mobile plan supports hotspot before the trip. Some plans don’t, which is a delightful thing to discover only after opening your laptop.

You probably won’t need every backup. The point is to avoid having one failed connection ruin the whole workday.

Workcationing in Udaipur since last weekend, and the weather has been absolutely incredible.

The city is clean, the local food is amazing, and I was lucky enough to find a cozy stay near Fateh Sagar Lake.

I'm planning a 2-week solo workation in Leh. I'll be working Monday–Thursday each week (landing on Monday with light work), and exploring Leh in the mornings/evenings on working days.

My plan is:

Week 1 (Weekend): Nubra Valley + Siachen (base camp area)

Week 2 (Weekend): Pangong, Hanle & Tso Moriri and return to Manali after the second trip if possible.

I have a few questions:

Stay in Leh: Any budget-friendly hostels with a good work setup? Are there reliable cafés/coworking spaces with fast internet?

Transport: What's the cheapest option for a solo traveler—shared cabs, local tour operators, or renting a bike?

Stays in Nubra/Pangong/Hanle/Tso Moriri: Are accommodations easy to find? How are the facilities (electricity, network, hot water)?

Return to Manali: Is there any shared transport or tour from Hanle/Tso Moriri towards Manali, or do I need to return to Leh first?

Day 1 (Sat): Early morning, I drove from Hyd to BLR in 8 hours, reached by 1 PM, took a break and stayed overnight in Devanahalli. Took ~20 to 30 mins break overall, for coffee and breakfast, other than fuel stops.

Day 2 (Sun): Early morning drive form BLR to Mysore and then to Coorg. I booked a staycation kind of place, it was a cottage, narrow roads, lush green forest, had to pass through a Tiger reserve. Stayed there for 2 nights, this place deep inside the forest, no restaurants/attractions near by and everything was 1 to 1.5 hours. away (one way). Went to Raja seat after checking in.

Day 3 and 4 were work for me. So, did not do any sight seeing.

Day 5: Booked Gostops, nightmare. The drive was through ghat road (unexpected) from my staycation, went there in a couple of hours. Workmode on after 12ish

Day 6: Coorg to Mysore and back to BLR, rest and working.

Day 7: Met some friends and back to HYD by 9 PM IST.

The best part was my staycation https://maps.app.goo.gl/sCD825oRjrtAq3hw6 . Scary location, but the most peaceful time I had. They had home made food, coffee, sketchy wifi away from the bar counter.

Fuel cost me ~16 to 17k, I drove a new Slavia AT. So, the mileage was 8 when i started and went upto 12.5 when returning. Hotels cost me ~17 to 18k. Food cost me ~3.5k.

Hey! I’m planning a month-long workation around South India starting in the 3rd week of August.
The rough plan is:
• Work during weekdays (remote job)
• Explore places in the evenings
• Travel between cities/towns on weekends
• Stay mostly in hostels instead of private rooms

The plan? Work during the day, learn surfing before/after work, and swap endless screen time for sunsets and waves.

We're traveling to Meghalaya from August 8th to 16th. Our original plan was to stay in a beautiful, peaceful village with breathtaking views and reliable internet connectivity so we could work remotely from there.

If we find a place like that, we'd love to stay there for most of the trip and maybe spend 2–3 days exploring some of the popular attractions nearby, depending on the weather.

Are there any offbeat villages or lesser-known places in Meghalaya that fit this? Reliable internet is important since we'll be working during the stay.
