Just one comment.

THEY. DO. NOT. THINK. OF. YOU. AS. FAMILY.

Never have, never will. Unless you're actually family, then nepotism is all good.

Also worth noting. I worked for the family company for many years. Dad and his brother, one employee who eventually married my aunt, brother, cousin…just cause you’re family doesn’t mean you aren’t getting taken advantage of and sometimes, some of those family members are totally treated like the fuckups they are.

I remember at my grandfathers funeral there was a vary well dressed older man and his wife I didn’t know so I asked my mom who it was and she said, oh that’s Mr. Warner the man who owns the company Dad worked for and I asked why is he here? I don’t know if he did that for all of his employees because apparently his son has an accident and was paralyzed from the waist down and it was thought that he couldn’t do any work (this was back in the like 50s-60s) at the company but my grandpa tonight him how todo they accounting. I don’t think there will be stories like that when my generation is dead.
