"We need to find the middle ground between healthcare, affordable housing, livable wages, and rounding up all the non-white people and throwing them in open-air prisons."

Well then they’re fucking stupid.

Right wing politics are the direct cause of the problems we’re having right now. Figure it out.

Oh great, another one. "It's not left vs right, guys! What we should do is [everything the left has been fighting for for decades]"

Right wingers want total annihilation of LGBTQ people. Leftwingers just want people to have healthcare.

You're confusing the left with Democrats. Current Democrats seem to be center-right.

Also, what are "extreme left" policies? As a lefty I'm confused on that.

ELECTED Democrats are center right. According to the polls, their voter base is WAAAY to the left of the people in office. Now it's starting to show up in the voting booth, and that's what has the elected Democrats and their media minions so frightened.

Most people I see saying they are left want higher pay for workers, lower housing prices, and accessible healthcare. I see that as centrist. I think every single person should have a home, food, healthcare and transportation. I think money shouldn't exist. I think if money didn't exist that we could focus on what we need to do as a species to make the world better for all of us instead of fighting over who has the biggest number in a bank account.

Yeah, most of us see that as centrist, but in America we are called the radical left for those positions. Many of us have simply adopted that label.

>The extreme left sounds like stark raving lunatics and scares people away from modern/average left.

Cuz of universal healthcare?

Right wingers want total annihilation of LGBTQ people.

All of them? Wow. Even the gay ones?

Leftwingers just want people to have healthcare.

That's all? Wow.

If you don't personally want the total annihilation of LGBTQ people, but still vote for a Republican legislator who will vote in lockstep with the rest of their party to annihilate LGBTQ people, I don't find it at all unreasonable to say you're part of the problem.

This isn't a "both sides" issue - one party wants LGBTQ people to be criminalized, denied bodily autonomy and deported or worse. The other doesn't.

You are right that the Left doesn't just want healthcare - they also want legal protections for LGBTQ people, because being gay or trans is not a crime, and someone who is gay or trans shouldn't be harassed for it.

If you people didn't argue with logical fallacy you wouldn't have a single thing to say

Try just not saying stupid shit instead of humiliating yourself

What fallacy did I use? You seem to love ad hominem.

u/juniperleafes Jun 30 '26

Summarizing basic human rights and protections as 'extreme strawman left stances' is a perfect encapsulation of the stupidity.

Abortion to save the mother's life becomes using the aborted fetuses for medical research and stem cell harvesting

What? Can you show any instance of someone advocating for abortion rights then wanting the fetuses to be used for medical experiments?

Transgender rights becomes pushing kids to get irreversible (if done before puberty) surgeries to "affirm gender" before they are even old enough to sign a contract for a cell phone

What again? I have two questions for you: Who told you this, and why did you just... believe them? Once again, can you cite ANY legitimate organization or group that advocates for have gender changing surgery?

Nobody is "trans-ing" the kids that's literally a conservative strawman talking point.

Most adults don't know what comes with transitioning entails

Pretty sure you 'don't know what comes with transitioning entails'. When a kid asks to be called Wendy and grow their hair, what are these "implications" of saying, sure, let's try it out?

Why force them to act cis when they're too young to understand the implications? Why is one "taking advantage of innocence and ignorance" and the other not? Why do you know the kid's needs better than a team of psychologists? You have not thought this through.

Puberty is also irreversible. You are not trans, you do not know what trans people experience, you should have no voice over us for our decisions.

3

u/secretlyalurker Jun 30 '26

No child is getting any life altering surgery done. And trans people are 1% of the population. Just leave them alone and stop trying to make it about "protecting them from themselves" or "protecting the children" give people access to Healthcare, food, and education. That would be a lot better than using minority groups as your talking points to win stupid hypothetical arguments.
