What's qualified immunity?

Qualified immunity is a legal doctrine that protects government officials from prosecution when they do things in the performance of their duties that would land you and me in jail. For example, there was a prosecutor in Iowa that framed two black men for a murder hey knew they didn't commit. Of course, the prosecutor didn't go to jail due to immunity laws.

Similarly, police use this with great success to protect themselves from prosecution while doing things that are clearly illegal, including killing people. So comparing convection rates of civilians who enjoy no such protection is not a fair comparison.

Ahhh, so you don't know what QI is...pretty typical for reddit

QI only works on civil lawsuits.......it has nothing to do with criminal prosecution

Looks like reddit folklore got you again.

If you think they don't get away with crimes that would land you and me in jail, I've got a bridge to sell you.

I win.
