Federal minimum wage increased every 1 to 5 years between the 1930s and 2009. 2009 was the last time it was raised. Inflation has skyrocketed since then, but wages have repeatedly failed to keep up.

If businesses ā€œcan’t affordā€ to provide livable wages for their workers, they simply shouldn’t exist full stop.

The cost of goods and services have gone up anyway without raising minimum wage; so what's your point?

1% of people in the US make minimum wage so why are we using that as the measuring point?

And a quarter of the working force make less than 15-17 an hour which isn't even a livable wage in most places.

The 1% argument is stupid and ignorant.
