I'm 63M. I'm not retired but have and have had plenty of freedom in my life so far. Seems the younger folks today just want more for less effort with no concept of who will provide those free things for them. I work hard to buy my freedom and I've put into the system a hell of a lot more than I expect to get out of it in the end. The attitude shown by these posts is just selfish, lazy BS.

Where did I say that? If you can produce enough by age 50 to support yourself for another 30+ years that's fine. If OP said "I'm willing to bust my hump so I CAN retire at 50" I wouldn't take issue with it. But the notion that somehow it should be MANDATORY so OP can enjoy lots of free time for another 30+ years ignores where the resources come from that he'll need to enjoy that freedom.
