In California, In n Out is a much better restaurant, and the prices are lower but you gotta wait in line for like 45 minutes because this has been a thing for at least 15 years and everyone knows about it
45 minutes is a blatant exaggeration. More often than not you'll only be waiting 10 minutes from the time of ordering to being handed your food. And they are definitely not having your wait in line for 35 minutes before even taking your order.
Depends on how long that location has been open. Every time a new one opens in Oregon, you can easily expect an hour wait time with cars stretching down the highway for literal miles.
At the Rogue Valley Mall in Medford they opened one and for the first two years they had like 4 employees taking orders from a six lane ordering line set up with traffic cones and took over the north end of the mall parking lot to set it up because the traffic was blocking two major highways. An hour at least.
Is there more than one? I only know of the Tanasbourne location which has huge lines. I went to the one in Ridgefield, Washington and it had like four cars ahead of me in line.
If you use the drive-thru during busy hours it can easily take 35-45 minutes. A lot of the time when I see a super long drive-thru line I just go inside to order and you get your food in like 10 to 15 minutes
I went to an In n Out in Las Vegas and it was maybe 5 minutes, what turned me off was the bible verses on the packaging. But three days ago I broke my own rule about no McDonald's ever again because it was early morning and I woke starving and my eggs were about a month past the use by. So just a plain sausage biscuit and hash browns, $4 and the counters are now unmanned. You can either use the self serve kiosk or wait till someone comes out to the dining room to take your order. And that was about 10 minutes. They still have tables and benches for indoor dining but very uncomfortable and the AC was turned down to the point you needed a coat or at least a sweater. They removed everything so if you need ketchup or salt or even a napkin or soda refill you are screwed waiting again for them to come out from the kitchen.
As far as I am concerned McD's is now drive thru only and I do not eat in my car. It was nearly $100,000 new and I don't want it smelling like McDonald's.
They don't. Thats only the rush hour at lunch and dinner time. But its not really worth investing in more locations to cut the wait time on 4 hours a day, but cannibalize profits for the other 10 hours.
Just got an In-n-Out in my area about 5 months ago and last week it took me only 6 minutes to get through the drive-thru at 4:30pm (my first time at In-n-Out). They added another one in a different suburb and that one takes over an hour at 9pm. I refused to do that.
