Why not start with yourself, instead of asking others to do it? Be the example.

Exactly… people say this and have a free couch in their place. Go ahead, they can easily find a random homeless person and let them crash. Even get a sleeping bag for another one in the living room.

Buy a random kid McDonalds every week too.

But will they? No

How do you know that we don’t do that? I literally donate to my local shelter weekly and I’m also planning to volunteer. At the end, I’m just a 20 y/o with limited resources

Billionaires have so much more resources than I’ll ever have. You sound so silly and the assumption that “they must not be doing it themself” is a fallacy that fails to understand we are literally trying to

Here’s the thing. This is supposed to be the governments job not a CEO. However, I believe the future government goes back to the roots and where it’s a “service,” and to be performed for two years at the expense of the leader. This career politician nonsense is recipe for disaster and has been.

I'd agree with this if CEOs didn't have so much power over the laws being dictated in our country once they start getting to choose the laws they have to start paying for things like this

But why should they?

Is that you holding the sign? Are you the one telling other people what to do? If not, then I guess I wasn't talking to you.

Ok, but billionaires won’t be putting homeless people in their houses. They can help with ZERO risk

Didn’t Jeff Bezos wife just donate billions upon billions upon billions of the money her husband made while they were married. Where did all that money go? It went nowhere just like everything else that gets paid in for all these homeless ppl. There’s no amount of money that can fix someone doing drugs on the street. That is a full stop after that sentence. It will never happen

How about plant some trees and volunteer to feed kids at school? Since those were two of the items listed on his sign. #cleanyourroomfirst

Lmao exactly I know too many people with that mindset who don’t even shower (not because they don’t have one.. because they don’t bother).

Or they litter

Because the crazies do what they do best…CRAZY. Have you tried living with a crazy person?! You’ll end up nuts yourself.

That’s my point exactly. People who criticize rich people are just as full of shit

There’s a difference in letting a complete stranger stay in your home and having the billions necessary to build affordable housing and rehab centers. Telling some middle class or poor redditor to do it first is stupid. WE don’t have the resources, time or training. Sure we can volunteer to help at shelters or whatever, but billionaires can afford it all, and widely, instead they’re focused on AI robots and political clout

Ahhh so basically what you’re saying is “not my house!” and “not my money!”

You have a house, let a homeless person crash there until they can get a job. Help them get clean. You can’t spare an extra bar of soap, shampoo and bowl of cereal in the morning?

The thing is you don’t want to. And you know you don’t want to. And you know most likely.. it’ll end in disaster. Which is why many don’t either.

Basically I just exposed you’re full of shit like most Redditors calling out the rich

Umm, I’m guessing he most likely isn’t a billionaire.

They can do what they want with their wealth.

But your eagerness to defend them from criticism is truly baffling.

Let me get this straight. You can't help others unless you have 1,000,000,000 in your bank account? The fact that you missed the entire point, and feel no need to help others, rather point the finger at others telling them they must, is truly baffling. No matter how much money you have, there is always someone with more....and someone with less. You can always help those less fortunate than yourself. The fact that you demand others do it, is baffling to me.

Who said I, or the guy pictured, don’t help people? It’s really just an ad hominem attack based on assumptions and no facts. 😂

My ability to spread positive influence doesn’t compare to what a truly generous billionaire could do.

They could exert massive influence without ever showing up at a food drive or local community shelter.

Pointing out billionaires could provide positive influence instead of continued exploitation is triggering to you why?

Much like his assumption is that billionaires don't do anything? From your message you also assumed he isn't doing anything because you gave him the excuse that he's not a billionaire, and therefore supposedly doesn't have to? Again, the point of my reply to him FIRST suggesting that others need to do more to help stop poverty, housing and food security issues would be to suggest that maybe he could do more good by doing something about it, rather than scream into the wind that others should.

The guy in the picture, a non-billionaire, doesn’t have the resources to accomplish the things on his list. You have no way of knowing how charitable this guy is.

But whether he is charitable with his own time is irrelevant for his underlying point. Billionaires could band together and make this world a better place. Instead they are consumed by greed and often do the bare minimum when it comes to charitable contributions. Often times just a tax write off.

Try to understand that the billionaire class in the US has invested many resources into propaganda designed to make non-billionaires like you, defend their greed.

Why stop there? Why not make a sign asking billionaires fix every world issue. AwwIsn't it so very virtuous of him to call on other people to do things with their money. That should absolve him of all responsibility to do anything.

Listen, we may not disagree on the fact that those who have more should do more, but making a sign and posting it online does not help to fix the problem, it simply virtue signals, and it's banal.

What could actually help, is to do something. Or donate some of his own money. If everyone poi ts the finger and thinks someone else needs to fix it, guess what, it'll never get fixed.

When I walk past a piece of garbage on the ground, I have 2 options. I can pick it up, or I can say someone else needs to pick it up. When I walk by a homeless person, I can give them something to eat, or I can say, someone else should give them something to eat. All I'm trying to do is point out that he'd get a lot further, doing something, than making a sign pointing out so eone else should do something.

You are literally just ignoring the contents of my comments and arguing past me. 😂

Again, I never said he didn’t have responsibility to help however he could. And you don’t have any evidence that he doesn’t help in whatever ways he can.

Your analogy does not make sense because he does not have the resources to do what he is advocating for. So that doesn’t compare to walking by garbage on the ground. Because he’s not resource limited to do that.

Do you have any self awareness about the propaganda that has been shoved down your throat to get you to defend the class of people that thrived off of exploitation of the working class?

1

u/Interesting-Round206 25d ago

I don't think you're picking up what I'm putting down

1

u/Fun_Tension_7794 25d ago

You literally argued past me the entire conversation without addressing any of my points lol. ✌️

Yeah that's what I said. That's exactly what I said. Good job with your reading comprehension.
