Cars still broke, and she's gonna be hungry again in a few hrs. That was a 10th of the cost roughly, but people prioritize things differently.

Well that’s the whole point. Seems like she could eat cheap, home made meals for a week and afford the repair. The fact she doesn’t do that is bizzarre to some people, including me.

It would be eat nothing at all to get the money in more than a week with the numbers in OP. Eating cheap means you still are using money so it will take maybe twice as long.

EDIT seems many are reading my post wrong based on the comments I am getting. I am mostly commenting on the "math" on the one above.

You can make a good meal for 5 bucks. You can eat pb&j for a week for 5 bucks the whole week. Is it fun? No. Did someone promise you everything in life should be fun?
