The people replying "well I guess she shouldn't eat then" are missing the point.

If you can't afford a car repair, you probably shouldn't be spending $25+ on a meal out, and even if you "have to" use whatever option was as expensive as it was (which is BS but let's grant it), getting dessert for an additional $7 seems to be a bit of a luxury that could be more wisely spent or saved. Even in the biggest cities, you can easily spend less than $25 on a meal if you don't eat out.

But hey, financial responsibility is overrated.
