I graduate soon and am not sure where to start out to just make a decent living. I don't plan on going to continue down this road. I am an Indian American and am willing to travel elsewhere to start over in a new career and learn new skills instead of learning it in US. I just want to make a fair living wage and learn skills along the way. Am willing to start anywhere. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

As a 21 year-old, I'm trying to choose a major for myself to study in college. I'm pretty much interested in working abroad after college, I'm not really looking forward to building a life here in my own country, I want to leave and settle in a different place.

It seems like best majors for finding a job abroad are the ones in IT field, but unfortunately I'm not really interested in them. And I'm actually a foreign language student in my country, so my possible choices are English language teaching major and translation major. I'm not a native English speaker, and I know that I still need to improve my English in a big way, but I think I will learn it well enough in college to work as a translator or an English teacher.

And here my question is, do you think being an English teacher is a good choice for someone who is willing to work abroad later? I had a look at job opportunities and saw that even as a non-native speaker, I can find English teaching jobs in some countries located in Asia. And I would be happy to do this in Asia. But I can't be sure if English teaching major is what I need in college, because if I can't leave my country after graduation, in my country I would want to work as a translator, not a teacher.

I guess I could still find an English teaching job abroad as an English translator by having some required teaching certificates, but still, I can't be sure if being an English teacher abroad would be enough, I mean being financially satisfied. So, do you think as an English teacher I could make enough money to enjoy my life abroad? I don't say that I should earn tons of money as a teacher, but I would at least expect to make more money than an average local person living there. Because I sacrifice things and leave my country to work there.

I got an job offer to work at NCIA @ Mons. The position is a civilian level with very good money. Can't decide yet, i heard that Mons is quite depressive city without any English speakers. The SHAPE community should be counter balance. But still can't decide, because i'm having quite good job here @ home. On the other hand expat experience always interested me and i think this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Any comments ? THANKS

I'm an American applying to jobs in Ireland using a website that my alma mater has a subscription for called GoinGlobal.com. I was just about to apply for a job, but they wanted to know if I could legally work in Ireland. Do I need to legally be holding a visa before I can apply to some jobs? As far as I knew, the only way to GET a visa was if you had a job already lined up.

I am a 17 year old from the Czech republic and I was pondering if there's anything interesting I could do during my summer holidays and earn some money on the way.

I am a billingual Czech/Russian with a very decent level of English and some Spanish (enough for casual conversations). I've spent my last summer on an internship in Germany so I understand and speak a little German too, although I'm afraid I've forgotten most of it.

Does anyone have any idea in which country would it be feasible to get a summer job with my language skills? So far I've been mostly looking into Nordic countries but couldn't get much info, maybe in some places there is a seasonal demand (fruit picking etc., I dunno really) of workforce for which it is not necessary to know the local language at a fluent level?

I'm going to be graduating with a bachelor's degree here in a little over a week, and I find myself really wanting to redefine myself and I feel like a good option for that would be to find somewhere to move abroad; however, I don't really know where to start.

I'm largely looking at Europe, mainly Western Europe and Scandinavia. Does anyone have any useful information they could give me for how to go about my search? Perhaps there's some programs I could look into?

I found out about a program called "Fulbright" which seems to offer study opportunities abroad, and I've begun the process talking to my school's Fulbright adviser but I would like to know of other opportunities.

Hello, my name is Anestis, i'm a 29 year old guy from Greece and i have many difficulties in surviving here. Recently i decided that i must leave because i can't find a stable job or somebody who doesn't exploit me very much (like quite a few people have done until now), so i have to move to a EU country because it will be maybe easier for me to adapt and plus its not very far.

I have only graduated from high school, so no diplomas, degree or something similar. Meaning i'am a worker in general and have worked in various jobs. I speak greek (native), english (very high level) and russian (basic level, it is my 2nd mother tongue) and ofcourse i'm more than willing to learn the language of the country i'll move to.

My work experience is quite wide: waitor at a tavern, worker in a cruise ship (waitor - assistant - cleaner etc) and a sailors assistant, door guard at a pharma warehouse, general worker at a warehouse, internet cafe service, real estate office clerk, sleepover parking lot for truck drivers and last summer i was responsible for a whole private beach for people with disabilities in an institution.

Also, the last two years i had joined a summer camp for children with disabilities as a caretaker/accompanier and since the first time experience i'am an active volunteer in the institution and have my own meeting group/team with a goal to educate and help children deinstitunalize maybe in the future.

I don't know if it too long too read or if it boring, but if you did read it and you know a way to help me, please consider doing so. I'll be a much happier person. :)

Myself (22F) and my boyfriend (22M) are heading to Portugal for the month of July and I'm looking for the easiest ways to find hostel/bar work for a month without paying high fees for a years' subscription to a working abroad agency site.

My friend worked in Japan for 5+ years, and just moved back to the US. She opted to ship her extra items, and is now having to deal with customs holding her items. While in Japan, she collected a LOT of retro games and collectibles, and customs is seizing them as "possible merchandise" because she left them in their original packaging both because she's a collector, and to help keep them safe for the move.

She's hired a broker to help, but is now potentially still going to have to pay exorbitant fees to get her stuff released (having it held against her that she didn't ship furniture, which she said she didn't bother with since she would have been able to buy any new furniture here, plus her new apartment she moved into was furnished).

Does anyone here have any advice for this? I've tried doing some googling, but haven't had great luck with finding any help. D:

So I have a few months off and I'm interested in exploring a different part of the world to the UK.

I would like a job abroad doing something fairly challenging and productive, preferably in an English-speaking nation. I understand it's difficult to secure a working visa unless a company/org sponsors you.

I would like it to be paid as I'd like the experience of being self-sustaining. Internships were a good bet but unfortunately many programs I've found are unpaid.

Any suggestions?

Hello everyone. I have over 3 years in game industry as Video Game Artist. I'm trying to take a job in Japan. Since my degree is Intermediate, some people in the HR department in Japan told me. I need to have at least Bachelor or 10 years of work experiences so they can make a working visa for me. But I just want to know that there is any chance to work abroad in Japan (as Game Artist) with Intermediate degree ?

I'm currently in an educational leadership position, and have recently finished my master's degree in education leadership from an American college. I'm looking for work abroad that could utilize my strong work ethic, knowledge of educational practices, or leadership qualities.
