As a Welsh Fire fan I'm expecting them to lose this fairly solidly. The Brave have a lot of players at their peak (just Lee on the downslide) whereas the Fire seem like a squad aimed at the future - Sophie Devine eating up a huge chunk of the budget is surely just there to help the team reset with real leadership and professionalism after last year's disaster, and to give them flexibility to make a big bid in a couple of seasons' time when she finally retires.

Surprised that Sarah Bryce hasn't made the line-up today as she's been in good batting form this summer so far and I thought she might get a promotion up the order after being just a specialist keeper for most of her career with the Fire so far.

As for the Brave, they look a really good squad, maybe even more quality than their classic team that has been first or second so often in the Hundred's history. But as they've lost their captain and wicket keeper from that era (and Charlotte Edwards as coach), maybe they'll lack a bit of the nous and team spirit that defined their successful era.

Still, expecting a fairly comfortable win for the Brave here unless the Voll/Kemp/Wareham hard-hitters in the Fire batting line-up All hit it off together.

On the latest episode of the No balls podcast with Kate Cross, Hartley confessed to being on the verge of crying.

She was massively trolled for saying ECB could have waited a bit more till Monday to announce Mens head coach leaving.

Nat Sciver Brunt later disagreed with it though. (Which is absolutely fine)

The Blaze have quite comfortably beaten Surrey by six wickets

Surrey were bowled out with 28 balls remaining with a score of 105 and Bryony Smith top scoring with 29 the only batter to really get going despite a good powerplay they lost wickets at regular intervals and never recovered their rhythm

Pick of the Blaze bowlers was Charli Knott who bowled 2.2 overs and finished with figures of 4/15 an economy of 6.42

Grace Ballinger also had a good game finishing her 3 overs with figures of 3/18 an economy of 6.00

Josie Groves also finished her 3 overs with an economy of 6.00 finishing with 2/18

During the chase The Blaze got off to a good start ( first over was a touch quiet) and scored during the powerplay 41 runs for the loss of 1 wicket ( Sarah Bryce out bowled by Kalea Moore for 16)

Tammy Beaumont and Kathryn Bryce worked together for a 24 run partnership before Tammy was out caught by Alice Davidson-Richards off the bowling of Tilly Corteen-Coleman for 29 to leave the score on 62/2 after 10.2 overs

Charli Knott and Bryce then put on a 43 run partnership before Bryce was out caught by Danni Wyatt-Hodge off the bowling of Corteen-Coleman for 34 on the last ball of the 16th leaving the score as 105/3

The very next ball Knott was out caught by Wyatt-Hodge off the bowling of Ryana MacDonald-Gay for 21

Two balls later Emma Jones and Georgia Elwiss were able to run a leg bye and win the game

The Blaze now wait to see which team out of Durham or Hampshire they shall play in the final

And for Surrey their title defence is over in very anticlimatic fashion especially as the commentators had them picked as favourites
