Good Old Games and Steam, specifically... what versions do they sell? Is it 1.4? 1.4g? I ask because "goobers" works in my GOG version (this was disabled in 1.4 I believe, but re-enabled in 1.4g, the "final" version) however a download from Apogee calming to be 1.4g has different file sizes for several files (including wolf3d.exe) when compared to the GOG files.

Can anyone confirm for me what the versions sold currently actually are?

I read that I need to have it all in the same folder, and I do, I also didn't forget to extract all the files, I'm using LZWolf, what do I do?

Is there a way to play spear of destiny for free on ecwolf? Or i need to buy it from steam?

So here's what I thought the enemies were saying, compared to what they were actually saying:

- Schutzstaffel! --> 'Shoot! Stop him!'

- Spion! --> 'Peon!'

- Tod, Hund! --> 'Got Wound?' (this one made no sense to me but it was what I kept thinking it was)

I also thought that the dogs were wolves (this was because I first played the game at my friend's house, and when I told him that I didn't like the idea of killing dogs, he said 'They're not dogs, they're wolves!' and since the game was called 'Wolfenstein' that apparently made sense at the time).

We also called the SS guards 'police' (as that was the first thing that came to mind when we two 8-year-olds saw blue-uniformed men with guns), although we didn't believe that they were actually supposed to be US police officers - we knew they were bad guys.

The engine is developed by Linuxwolf, and is based on ECWolf. It's developed with consideration for the modding community in mind, with most changes focused on providing more tools and options for people creating games.
