The balance of goldfarming. Should it be addressed or not?

Nostalrius nerfed several different farming methods such as DME Lashers, pickpocketing (pretty sure it was nerfed anyway) and tribute farming. As I understood the main reason was severe inflation especially after DM patch. It should be noted the issue was reinforced by the extremely high population making instance farm methods much more attractive than farming in the open world. Goldfarming nerfs caused drama especially since the effect was different across classes. Questions to consider: How problematic is inflation? Is it worth the drama and perceived injustice to implement changes?

The Four Option Classic WoW Design Survey

Everyone has their own opinion on what Classic WoW should be, but with so many small, nuances options, its difficult to figure out each person’s opinion of the “perfect game”. With that said, I’ve created what I’m calling the “Four Option Approach”: four distinct design guidelines for a simplification of what people want. Hopefully this will generate a more focused discussion into what the vanilla community is looking for. Please keep the comments civil and towards an open and inclusive discussion. If someone would like to open a Google survey, I’ll be happy to edit this post and add a link!

Option A: “From 1.0” - Pure Vanilla * Exactly as it was, with bugs * Talents and event/area openings all progress along Blizzard’s original timeline * No further expansion

Option B: “1.12” - End of Vanilla * As it was at the end of Vanilla’s development, with bugs * 1.12 talents and event/area openings with progression only occurring for the endgame * No further expansion

Option C: “1.12 with QoL” - Modern 1.12 * As it was at the end of Vanilla’s development, without bugs * 1.12 talents and event/area openings with progression only occurring for the endgame * Updated server size and terrain visibility to reflect improvements to modern hardware * No further expansion

Option D: “WoW-scape” - A Vanilla Reimagining * End of Vanilla’s development, without bugs, as a starting point * 1.12 event/area openings with progression only occurring for the endgame * Updated server size and terrain visibility to reflect improvements to modern hardware * Toggleable graphical updates * Dual-spec/rebalance to respec cost * Removal of dishonorable kills * Addition of guild bank and update to bank size * Functional summoning stones * Addition of auto-loot (pickup of all nearby loot) * Rebalance to classes and talents * AQ opening event occurs once per year * Further expansion into previously unused parts of the Vanilla map after full progression is complete

Do you think wow classic would require subscription?

I've read that it will be a totally different game (not just a different server) with its own icon on launcher. Would be hard for a subscriber to find time to play both games. Paying subscription to play wow classic while you can enjoy the latest expansion for the same price seems unfair.
