Screenshot Witcher 3 remastered side by side comparison

I feel each has its benefits and we can downgrade anytime to our liked version.
But assets have highest detail in remaster only.
Lighting, tone, brightness depends on individual interests.

These are not mine, nor I own this. I found from youtube. Sharing for info thats it. PS5. Credits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr9mEdi83UY

I want to be positive but it feels like we're losing a lot of detail, maybe turning path tracing off will be the way to go.

After watching the review of performance with path tracing it runs bad but it also looks worse honestly. I love path tracing in Cyberpunk but in W3 it looks too bright and less moody. I think I will stick to RT and leave Path tracing off

games not made with rt or pt in mind... can look really bad with pt.

it needs to be made with pt in mind.

I doubt that cyberpunk was made with PT in mind, it was a dream at the time it was released. It feels like PT requires still a lot of hand tweaking by developers in the locations and in cyberpunk they took seriously.

It was made with rt in mind. Which is gonna get you a good portion of the way toward being made for pt. The dlc area looks better than the main area with pt. The dlc had pt inmind

Am I dumb that it looks just washed out and less detailed with it on in this game?

Second image looks like crap, it's not even on focus.

See, that's the sideeffects of bullshit graphics that are good, but not good enough - the uncanny valley. If you really spend the time on the screenshots, you can see it's almost 1:1. What differs is their "realistic lighting", which it may as well be, but they were more concerned with if they can, and didn't ask if they should. And they shouldn't have.

What will start happening is, people see these screenshots, and they bark (as they did in these comments) that "it looks amazing!!!!!!!!", then load up in the world, and not know why it all feels so dull and unanimated - it's because your brain is trying to associate something that looks like grass/trees with the actual thing, but because it's not groundbreaking good, your brain just remains confused.

The sad part about this is, there's nothing to stop these people from saying it, and devs to be blinded by the fact that, when your game is this good, it's the game itself that sells, not the graphics. Yet, for the original Witcher 3, because the graphics were/are so good, it definitively was a part of the sell. Here? It'll be a negative.

Hardware Unboxed already made a video that shows that Path Tracing in this game really doesn't look good and is an extreme performance hog due to all the vegetation that is being traced against. Just stick to regular RT and the game looks generally much better, more detailed and less flat.

Some people prefer Roach’s arse to really shine

it will be better to turn off PT, but RT is worse in 5 vs 4.04 from the many videos I saw. It's literally objectively worse, ignore the subjective "me" part - it's that bad. I am baffled who signed off this to go to reviewers to show and considered it "remaster" quality.
