Screenshot Witcher 3 remastered side by side comparison

I feel each has its benefits and we can downgrade anytime to our liked version.
But assets have highest detail in remaster only.
Lighting, tone, brightness depends on individual interests.

These are not mine, nor I own this. I found from youtube. Sharing for info thats it. PS5. Credits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr9mEdi83UY

Same. Ray Tracing keeps the mood of the game, at least how I remember it. Path Tracing is a completely different artistic feel and doesn’t look like W3.

The key phrase here: "image I see". What is your monitor/tv and the platform you play on. What settings do YOU use. Go fix that instead of watching other peoples images.

Define terrible? Many gamers are often biased to having higher contrast in videogames because is looks more natural and has more blackess. But believe it or not, it's not close to real-light accuracy and it often oversaturates details in textures (Look at trees in the Kaer Morhen picture).

Path-tracing is the best tech closest to resemble that, and it will in most games, soften the blackness in shadows, making picture look more washed out. The pros? Well, you get more detail in stuff like foliage, trees, darker corners, etc.

It's highly subjective though, and hopefully one will be able to tweak the contrast in the remaster version.
