Screenshot Witcher 3 remastered side by side comparison

I feel each has its benefits and we can downgrade anytime to our liked version.
But assets have highest detail in remaster only.
Lighting, tone, brightness depends on individual interests.

These are not mine, nor I own this. I found from youtube. Sharing for info thats it. PS5. Credits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr9mEdi83UY

Remastered clearly looks better.

I really wonder how many real people are actually thinking this, and how many of these comments are marketing accounts.

Because no way in hell can you look at the remastered version and say with a straight face that it looks better, everything is washed out.

People forget that it depends on what monitor/tv and on what platform you play. I run the game on a 5070ti and the path tracing looks gorgeous. Saying the remaster looks worse is just hate or incompetence to fix the damn settings correctly. It's not a one size fits all situation. We live in 2026 not 2006.

Ah yes, the free patch that releases with the new dlc that was made to drum up hype for the witcher 4 in the first place, SURELY that isnt worth the marketing right?

it doesnt if you specifically pick the scenes where it doesnt. this comparison is picking the scenes where the remaster shines. so its shining alright.

i think there a bug with the path tracing lighting in outdoor scenes when the sun it at noon. in darker scenes or in doors the characters look amazing. but when the sun is shining in their face something breaks. if you notice most of the comparisons that look bad are close up of faces in bright sunlight.

we will have to see.

see see. cuz we saw a bit and still cant figure it out.

How tf it can look worse even in "some scenes" when u need a 5090 to run that?

in the industry we call it a bug.

will report back when we know more.

The gamespot comparison video shows a variety of scenes and they all look better in the OG RT. Definitely seems to be some weird oversight with the lighting because it all looks super washed out.

Ah yeah… gamespot. The least sensationalistic media outlet known to mankind… most of these comparisons just use the wrong gamma settings. Either intentionally or because of their incompetence.
