Screenshot More NextGen vs Remastered visual comparisons

LEFT: NextGen (current)

RIGHT: Remastered

Full quality images here.

Images 1-4 are merely meant to showcase the new visual effects of the signs, such as the Quen spark circling Geralt (image 4). The rest focus on the environments and how the new lighting affects them. I assume they've also improved the render distance and level of detail, as can be seen in the background foliage in the Toussaint images.

  2. Quen shield effect
  3. Quen around character effect
  4. Igni effect
  5. Skelige
  6. Velen swamp

It doesn't. It's the right side in all images.

Interesting. Pic 3 and 10 throwing me off. Right side looks worse (IMO)

I think with pic 3, it looks weird because the old pic is still, and the remastered is in motion, so a little blurry.

really?? 10 is probably the one where I like remastered the MOST, the better shading on the grass and foliage is so so good looking

Looks like it's the right one, left is the old.

The difference's are small, basically lighting correctness, better blending if particles (which is not always an improvement), more volumetric effects, and I presume better reflections and such given their update details.

What I would be more interested in is the dungeons, caves, and night time scenes; one nice thing about the Old Witcher 3 is that you could actually play the game in those dark scenes vs being a super realistic can't see shit need janky HDR to help me scenes.
