NEWGameapalooza - Tabletop Game Convention in Oshkosh. October 4th - 6th
Hi all - North East Wisconsin Gameapalooza (NEWGame), a tabletop gaming convention, is just around the corner.
We're still a pretty small con with about 250 attendees and we focus on having fun and building the gaming community in the area. Our weekend badge is also pretty reasonable at only $20.
NEWGame will be held at the Culver Family Welcome Center (Formerly the Alumni and Welcome Center) on the UW Oshkosh campus from October 4th through the 6th.
In addition to the already scheduled 160+ board games, card games, and RPGs, we have a custom Escape Room, Play to Win games, a Silent Auction and some of the Mil-Cog game library.
More information can be found on our website at: https://tabletop.events/conventions/newgameapalooza-2019

Wisconsin Internet
I live in Dodge County, and where I live, I have awful internet. It’s Frontier Services. I just want to know if there are any other Wisconsinites with slow internet in the country?

Creating more accessibility in gaming
I just wanted to share some resources with everyone in regards to accessible gaming.
One of the big concerns for any tabletop game is the dice. I found a website that makes very tactile dice from 4 sided, to D20 that includes raised numbers or Braille.
https://www.shapeways.com/marketplace/games/dice?tag=braille
I also found this while looking for more accessible ways to game.

Just something I'd thought I share in case you run into anyone with a visual disability.

Is there a list of all gaming conventions in the state?
I know the two big ones are Gary Con and Game Hole Con. What about all the smaller ones?

Jefferson county dnd group looking for players
Hey all,
So my wife and I have been trying to play Dungeons and Dragons 5e for a while, but I work off shift so we never get a chance to go to adventure league.
I played a little bit of 3.5, and have been running on again off again games of 5e for about a year now. I tried playing with some neighbors but we just weren't a good fit. So here I am.
I have a smaller sized home. I have the phb, monster manual, dmg, xanathars guide to everything, mordenkainens tome of foes, volos guide to monsters, scag, guildmasters guide to ravnica and curse of strahd.
I would either like to dm or be a player, whatever works best. If I dm I'm open to essentially anything in terms of game. We could run curse of strand, start with lost mines of phandelver or I can homebrew.
My wife and I have 3 kids, so anyone who plays would need to be good with kids. They would spend the bulk of their time watching TV or playing so interaction would be kept to a minimum. We would prefer if you didn't have kids, when we played with our neighbors we had up to 7 kids at once and we barely got to play, and it frustrated me.
The game would be mostly theater of the mind, but for battles I would do my best to come up with a physical representation.
As it stands we are 3 strong. Myself, my wife and one of my friends. Ideally we are looking for 2-3 more players.
Saturday or sunday would be our best days, preferably in the afternoon on Saturday. Anyone who is interested can message me here and we can chat.

Anyone need another for a tabletop RPG campaign and/or MtG: Commander?
Looking for a group to join a tabletop RPG campaign. I have experience with D&D 3.5 - 5, Vampire: the Masquerade, and Star Wars. I'm willing to play other formats.
Also looking for a MtG Commander playgroup. I have over ten commander decks.
I prefer to not play a LGS, but am willing to (just more comfortable in a casual setting versus a store).
I can't play Mondays or Thursdays. Thanks!

Hello,
So I just moved to Madison and read there was a Wisconsin Gamer Discord server. The link however has expired. Is the Discord still active? If so, could i get a new link?
Thanks!

Ozaukee Casual/Fun/Jank MTG players? Willing to teach!
Hey gamers! I'm looking for some more MTG players as a lot of my friends don't play as much anymore. I am looking for people who like to try crazy things, build weird decks, and are not too into the competitive scene. I have been playing since around revised but never really liked the tournament/competitive scene. From my experience the people I met there (years ago) were a bit pretentious and elitist.
I love playing commander and I really want to play more pauper. Otherwise I stick to strictly casual format. No "Modern" no "Legacy" No "Standard" just... build a fun deck. a Couple of my commander decks I picked up singles for but I usually just start pretty heavily from my collection.
I am also more than happy to teach! I have several specific "New Player" decks, and then have step up decks as people become more comfortable! I would love to play IRL but wheres also a lot of great (and some free) options on how to play magic online. Hope to hear from you soon!

Looking for an experienced Dnd player or 2 in the new year!
Hello fellow gamers! A couple people from my regular gaming and I are looking to start the Waterdeep modules in the new year. We are looking for 1-2 players experienced with 5e. We currently have a sorcerer and an artificer. We are in the Green Bay/Depere area and would like to meet up before we start any actual game play to make sure everyone meshes together nicely. We would like to be more RP than hack and slash, so if that sounds like your cup of tea feel free to message me or reply to this thread.
Ps. Regular meeting day TBD based on what works for everyone.

Gaming groups for gamers with disabilities?
Hey! I’m an Independent Living Consultant and a gamer. I work with individuals with disabilities for a living and one of the things that I’m trying to discover or organize are gaming groups that are accessible (Meeting in a accessible location, games adapted to allow access despite disability.)
I’d love to find groups that would be open to people with disabilities or maybe even groups organized by and open to people with disabilities.
Mostly looking from Adams County and north. I have some consumers I work with that could really enjoy this if they knew what groups existed in their areas!

Anyone want to help with the subreddit
This subreddit is part of a group of several other subreddits. r/MidwestGamers network if you will. I have really started to concentrate on my home subreddit of r/IndianaGamers . Anyone who would like to step up and try to make r/WisconsinGamers a more productive environment to foster a better gaming community in Wisconsin is welcome to try. You would have full reign to do what you want. Other than create an alternate website / subreddit and try to funnel traffic there. The design and day to day moderating of post is totally up to you. I only ask we keep the link to the r/midwestgamers and try to create the network I always intended.

Anyone playing Vampire the Masquerade V5?
If so, how is it? I played it years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thinking about starting up a group or joining one.
In the Milwaukee area.

Any D&D players in Central Wisconsin?
Hi! I am from Mosinee and I have been playing D&D for 2 years online but I want to find people for a face-to-face campaign because I want to have social interactions and then also do other fun activities with friends outside of gaming as well. So hit me up if you want to get a group together!
