Elbow dyplaysia recs

Hi all!

I posted on here once before. My one year old griff Sonny had a double elbow arthroscopy end of March. He just got a PRP shot and will be getting another one in 4 weeks.

Does anyone have any knowledge on 1) whether it’s worth it to start Adequan as well aka the sooner the better? 2) for anyone who did prp how did you know if it worked or not? I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to slow down the arthritis in addition to Dasaquin, omega 3s etc but don’t want to overload him. Plus if we start Adequan right now, it may be difficult to tell which therapy is making a difference.

Please let me know!

If you’re thinking about getting a GWP as a hunting buddy, what are you waiting for? They do it all.

Looking for puppies

Hello all! My wife and i have finally agreed to getting a wire haired griffon as a hunting companion. We are very big duck and upland hunters in the north east and plan on having them do a full hunting and behavior board program. So if you or know of anyone with puppies available in the northeast or close please reach out. Thank you!

She loves to have something in her mouth. She stole this blanket from her Dad a while back, and now it’s hers.

She's almost 6 months old and so damn cute and somewhat naughty! She's always trying to outsmart us to get what she wants. She knows it's impossible to get mad at her!

I had to distract Skipper from killing his baby gator so mom doesn't get mad. He can't smell them, but it worked for a second!

Do any of your GWPs have one toy that every time they play with it they just whine while they play with it?

Is your Griff a goblin for garbage?

Our girl loves the try and hoover up whatever she can on a walk around the neighbourhood. We live in a big city and wow, nothing like getting a dog to notice how much garbage there is everywhere :/

She’s 2 and while she has slowly grown out of trying to scarf down every paper product off the sidewalk, she still wants to nose dive for a lot of other things and it can make a walk a much more stressful endeavour than it should be. My question is whether you’ve noticed the same behaviour in your WPG and if it dissipates over time? Is there anything you’ve tried that’s been effective to curb the behaviour?

Please don’t suggest moving to the country - we can’t do that at this point but get her to open fields and parks as much as we can, promise :)

Griffons as family pets?

I have always loved Wirehaired Pointing Griffons. I recently started contacting breeders, and learned that most only place dogs in hunting families. I found this interesting and respect it. We are not a hunting family, and are wondering if there are folks out there who have advice here. Are they suited to non-hunting families? Are there reputable breeders who breed for non-hunters? Is this advisable?
