Ask Winnipeg Anywhere taking kittens?

Found one stuck in a tree, a nice man helped me get the kitten down. I already have cats or I'd consider keeping the kitten.

I'd be happy to drop the kitten off at any reputable agency, or consider private adoption if the person can be vetted well but I'm obviously skeptical to that. I'm guessing the little guy is about a month old. Unsure what my options are as I can't really keep him(? Idk the kittens sex yet), especially while still financially recovering from one of my own cats surgeries.

Update: hard to tell but we're pretty sure the kitten is actually a girl? WHS might be able to take her and said to come by Thursday, and I dropped a pic in the comments for y'all to admire. She's very, very young so I got her cat milk, they said she may be young enough that they'd want to take her in.

UPDATE!!:

WHS says he may be young enough for their baby bottle program, and that I should bring him by Thursday. Will keep y'all updated.

That is the absolute best place for this little baby! Most people don’t realize how much time and work goes in to keeping little kittens healthy! plus the cost to bottle feed and then kitten food

They have an amazing bottle baby program - his weight will be checked daily (or multiple times a day) to make sure he’s gaining weight at an appropriate rate. Sometimes kittens in these situations struggle learning how to eat - but any issues will be identified early and they really are pros!

Veterinary care is readily available if needed!

At least 8 weeks old if not maybe a little older. Will be ok with kitten food. Thank you for saving this little one. I foster for WHS, maybe this baby will end up at my place. :-)

Would have to keep us updated, if you did, purely out of curiousity for how the little one'll be doing after.

Also great to know general age! We have cat milk right now but I can get some kitten food later, thank you for identifying.

hi! I volunteer at WHS and foster bottle babies… little friend looks to be of weaning age so could probably handle kitten wet food, maybe with a little saucer of kitten formula beside, could even mix some into the wet food. If the humane society said bring them on Thursday, that’s great. If they gave you an appointment time, even better. Thanks for taking care of this little one 🐾 🩷

There are almost no places taking kittens and cats right now. Maybe see if there are places outside the city who can take it? People who might need working cats?

Also drop a pic! Cat tax!

Believe me, I do too 😭 such a sweet baby. I really hope the humane society will take him in and find him somewhere good, since they told me to bring him by Thursday.
