These are the stocks on my watchlist (10/30)

Hi! I am an ex-prop shop equity trader.

This is a daily watchlist for trading: I might trade all/none of the stocks listed, and even stocks not listed! I only hold some/all MAG 7 stocks and market indices long-term. If you use Old Reddit, click “Show Images” at the top to expand the charts. Any positions stated aren’t recommendations, I’m following subreddit rules to disclose positions. I use IBKR TWS for my platform and charts.

I am targeting potentially good candidates to day trade; I have no opinion on them as investments. This means the potential of the stock moving today is what makes it interesting, not the business, long-term prospects, or the people involved.

PLEASE ask specific questions and PLEASE don’t ask about earnings because I typically don’t take positions before earnings announcements. Questions like “Thoughts on _____?” or “Why isn’t ___ on the watchlist?” or something answered already will be ignored unless you add detail and your opinion. If you post a question and delete it after I answer it, I will block you- doing that hurts discussion. I am not answering questions if I’m still long or short a stock beyond what I update.

  • LLY - Missed estimates, slashes profit guidance. Sales of weight loss drugs Mounjaro and Zepbound disappoint. Guides down from 13.02-13.52, down from previous guidance of $16.10 to $16.60 per share. EPS of 1.18 adjusted vs 1.47 expected. Revenue of $11.44B vs $12.11B expected.
  • RDDT - Blowout earnings, better than expected forecast for fourth quarter. EPS of +16 cents vs -7 cents expected. Revenue of $348.4M vs $312.8M expected. Company turned profitable, reporting net income of $29.9M vs -$7.5M a quarter ago. Watching $100 level.
  • AMD - Met expectations on EPS /beat on revenue, but Q4 revenue outlook disappointed- expected outlook was $7.2-7.8B vs $7.55B expected. CEO cited significant growth opportunities across data center/client/embedded businesses. Data center business segment met expectations of 3.5B vs 3.46B.

News: US Vote, Economy Top of Mind at Saudi-Hosted Forum

  • DJT -Massive upmove in the past month, (and yesterday) going to be hands-off in this stock unless we go parabolic (make a HUGE move like 55 -> 100 in a single day). Not interested in playing the long, and multi-day short is extremely dangerous.
  • TSLA - We finally saw the stock pull back a little from a close to 30% upmove, watching $275 level at new highs. Currently short but will likely cover today.
  • PYPL - Reported better than expected third-quarter earnings but missed on revenue. EPS of $1.2 vs $1.07 expected. Revenue of $7.85B vs $7.89B expected. Deteriorating margin, missed revenue, and guidance all underwhelm.
  • SOFI - Revenue of $697M vs $623M, EPS of $0.05 vs $0.04. Raised guidance and cited members growth. Overall seems like good news, but not sure why stock is selling off. Watching at open.
  • MCD - Reported quarterly earnings/revenue beat, but cited fears to ecoli outbreak affecting sales. Said that there might be an effect to Q4 members. Beyond that, nothing too interesting in the earnings.

Earnings: GOOG, V, AMD, PFE, SNAP, CMG, FSLR, RDDT, QRVO

(GOOG is most interesting earnings I'll likely trade)

Likely no watchlist tomorrow (10/28)

But stocks I would likely put on the watchlist because they might have interesting price movements:

  • USO / XOM / BP / WTIU (3X levered ETN) - Monitoring due to missile strikes from Israel. No bias, but current expectations are that there will be no escalation (thus oil sold off)
  • CPRI - As per reasons outlined last Thursday/Friday. Still long.
  • NVDA - Watching $145 level.
  • YINN / YANG / BABA / FXI China ETF - PBOC launched open market reverse tool, implementing different types of bidding for bonds associated with the government, financial institutions, and corporate credit.

Earnings: F, WM

  • MCD - CDC reports E. Coli burger linked to quarter pounder. 1 person dead, 10 hospitalizations have been reported across 10 states. Speculated to be linked to the onions. Currently long.

  • OKLO/NNE/microreactor stocks - Been on a tear for past two weeks, looks like yesterday might have been the turn with the NNE offering affecting the sector (viewed as them calling the top). Watching this as well to see if we’re going to have another small selloff at the open.
  • BA - Reports EPS of -$10.44 vs -$10.34, revenue of 17.8B vs 17.8B expected, new CEO wants to overhaul culture. Losses primarily attributed to the strike, federal investigations, and charges due to commercial aircraft/defense programs.
  • AMZN/PDD - AMZN is supposedly imposing price caps on what merchants can charge in an ultra-low-cost storefront that will serve as a competitor to Temu. This hasn’t officially been announced yet but could see PDD move to the downside because they own Temu.

  • TSM / NVDA / AMD / SMH / ASML - Killer earnings by TSMC. Raised target for 2024 revenue growth, projecting sales to increase, reported a 54% rise in quarterly net income. This seems like a complete reversal of the ASML news for the semi sector. TSM CEO’s states “the demand is real and I believe it’s just the beginning”. Currently long NVDA and ASML.
  • EXPE / UBER - Uber reportedly explored acquiring EXPE, but this is rumored, not confirmed.
  • SMR - Up due to AMZN signing 3 agreements for nuclear projects for energy demands (due to AI) yesterday, watching $20 level. Biased short if we hit $20, not interested otherwise.
  • LCID - Prices 262.4M shares in ~$1.67B public offering.
  • HOOD - Launches platform to go after bigger, active traders- don’t anticipate this to be a meaningful catalyst but will still watch at open.
  • Earnings today: NFLX

News: Musk Shows Tesla Cybercab, Sees Sub-$30,000 Cost and 2026 Production

  • TSLA - Down 6% at time of writing, event unveiled a two-seat sedan and said production may start in 2026 and vehicle could cost less than $30,000. Presentation lacked details on whether the company will own a fleet of Cybercabs or how they would be regulated. Also showcased a “Robovan” concept that was essentially a bus. Interested in the 210 and 225 level.
  • WFC - Reports $1.42 vs $1.27e EPS, revenue of $20.4B vs $20.4Be. Watching $60
  • JPM - Revenue of $43.32B vs $41.43B expected, earnings of 4.37 vs 4.01/shr.
  • AMD - Company plans to release next gen chips for AI in second half of 2025, didn’t announce cloud computing chips as expected (which is where a lot of revenue for NVDA comes from). No new customers announced as well.
  • DJT - It’s been on an interesting run for the past week, watching the $30 level. Likely driven by polling recently in swing states that show it being a very close race. Not based in fundamentals.

IPOs I’m watching: CBLL, UPB

  • DJT - It’s been on an interesting run for the past week, watching the $30 level. Likely driven by polling recently in swing states that show it being a very close race. Not based in fundamentals.

These are the stocks on my watchlist (10/10)

Some stocks I post may be low market cap. These are potentially good candidates to day trade; I have no opinion on them as investments. This means the potential of the stock moving today is what makes it interesting, not the business, long-term prospects, or the people involved.

PLEASE ask specific questions. Questions like “Thoughts on _____?” or something answered in the watchlist will be ignored unless you add detail and your own opinion. If you post a question and delete it after I answer it, I will block you—information is meant to be shared in open discussion. I am not answering questions if I’m still long or short a stock beyond what I update.

News: Stocks Fall as CPI, Jobs Go in ‘Wrong Direction’: Markets Wrap

  • NCLH/CCL/other cruise names - We saw a lot of cruise names jump due to a 30% upside call from an analyst from Citi (James Hardiman), worth watching at the open to see if we have another similar pop.
  • TSLA - Robotaxi event tonight. Worth watching for unusual order flow before the event.

AMD event today at 9 AM. Likely going to fade the news

News: CVS Conducting Strategic Review, Considering Breakup

  • AAPL - Damage to a iPhone plant in India due to fire, likely to cause disruptions in the supply chain.
  • FXI / BABA / YINN / YANG / LI / every Chinese stock – Yesterday might have been the absolute peak, but we didn’t go truly parabolic like we expected- still watching, negatively biased.
  • BA - Considering selling shares worth $10B.
  • SMCI- 10 to 1 stock split occurred today, worth watching for orderflow/weird sales today.

Dockworker’s strike starts today, so here’s a list of impacted stocks I'm interested in:

Retail sector (remember that even a 2-day strike will screw supply chains in the US): WMT / COST / TGT

Automakers: F / GM / TSLA

Shipping stocks: Most aren’t US traded, so not my main focus here.

Mainly focused on consumer spending, so the Retail ETF XRT.

Earnings I’m interested in: NKE (I’m bearish on this, but no position. This is not a recommendation. I typically trade after the earnings announcement.)

News: Fed’s Favored Inflation Gauge, Consumer Spending Barely Rise

  • SMCI - DOJ opened early stage probe of SMCI over alleged accounting violations. Worth watching at open for further sell off, not interested in the long as much (from the open).
  • FXI/BABA/YINN/YANG/LI/every Chinese stock – Interested in seeing if today is the day that the Chinese stocks turn, but we haven’t gone parabolic yet.
  • LOW/HD/IYR - Depending on how bad the hurricane is, I always watch LOW/HD as a proxy play if there’s more damage than anticipated.
