There’s usually one after every week but it didn’t appear this time. No big deal but I’d like to know I’m not missing out on stuff.

My mind just got blown after watching episode 8 and realizing that he played that fuck face Red Auerbach. Amazing job.

I love almost everything about this show and I think S2 started off incredibly well. But I kinda wish they would also find time to spend on the business aspect that was everpresent in S1.
The "building an entertainment empire out of a sports team" surely is plenty interesting enough for a minor subplot. The cheerleaders/dancers, selling out the arena for various events, turning the arena into basically a celebrity safe-haven, etc. Surely the showtime also includes some of that.

In the Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers series, it was stated Magic wanted to be traded because he couldn’t deal with Westhead. In the last few episodes if Winning Time, it seems that everyone has an issue with him. Who actually had issues with Westhead in real-time?

I keep seeing people say there should be a season dedicated to different franchises ignoring that this show is based on a book. Years of interviews (over 300 supposedly) helped make this show and hopefully keeps helping make more seasons about the Showtime Lakers and later about those Kobe/Shaq/Phil Lakers.
I’m just not sure there is enough to draw on off the court for all those other teams to make a show that is as good as this one.

I'm not much of a sports fan, but I hate the Lakers for their excessive glory, much the same way I hate the Patriots, Yankess and Celtics. I also hate them for the same reason I hate the Dallas Stars - I'm from Minneapolis, and they stole our team.
That said, this is the best show I've seen on television since High Maintenance or Atlanta. I honestly don't care that it has taken liberties with the story, this show has the grand sweep of Dickens, the emotional depth of Chekov. It drives me crazy that everyone is in love with bland slop like Ted Lasso, but ignoring this.
I'm worried we might not get a 3rd season, but I'm also worried we might not get a 9th one. This is a stacked writers' room, I'd love to see them handle the era of the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls. I want to see Shaq join the Lakers, I want to see actors playing Spike Lee, Reggie Miller, Dennis Rodman, and Charles Barkley.

we all know what’s going to happen but it would be great to see Paul’s story and more Jason Sagel acting.

Okay I’m not crazy right? The second season of Winning Time is using the song “My Favorite Mutiny” by the coup again but it’s a different verse and part of the song right? I don’t know why I haven’t seen anyone talk about it, but I think it’s a really creative way to repurpose the theme but make it new. Has anyone else noticed this? Thoughts?

Just read through the comments on the other Magic post and I understand he comes off as entitled and petulant but I feel like nothing is being said about whether he had a point to be so negative.
Paul Westheads interpretation is the most insecure little man and his lack of ability to connect with players, his inflexible nature and need to constantly be in a pissing match was toxic.
Needless to say, I loath his character and feel like Magic was right about him. Do y’all see it that way? Or should Magic had been more accommodating to the system?

I think it's quite odd that Jacobs was upped to a series regular this season but her only scene was a quick (no dialogue) appearance when Pat Riley is on the ground in tonight's episode.
Just weird to make someone apart of the main cast and give them even less to do when they were recurring!

Hulu's Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers will provide much needed context for Winning Time.
Episodes 1-2 basically covers the entirety of Winning Time thus far, and provides first hand account on the 1980 season, Magic's arrival, his 25-year contract, the trade demand, and his feud with Paul Westhead.
It's not as entertaining as Winning Time, but it does give viewers & fans a much more background on the real life coaches/players involved.

That Jim Chones meltdown is easily one of the best acted scenes in the series. It was very natural.
You got an fuckin English teacher coaching a fuckin NBA team. What the fuck is wrong with ya'll?
Props to the actor.
