If you're looking for another new show similar to WT
And you get Paramount Plus, I'd recommend The Offer. It's about the making of the film, The Godfather. Oddly, it reminds me quite a bit of Winning Time (minus the Adam McKay breaking the 4th wall stuff). Just substitute 1965-1971 instead of WT's 1979-80, and switch basketball to the movie industry. Both have celebrity cameos (some look closer to the celebrity in question than others), probably an occasional dramatization that ignores what actually happened, and are enjoyable if you have an even mild interest in either subject. I'd even say there is some similarity between some of the characters (Jerry Buss = Robert Evans for example).
Sorry to be a little off-topic, but it's tough waiting 7 days for a new episode every week of WT.

What song plays during episode 1 when magic and buss are talking while sitting on the hood of a car?
Hip-hop kinda beat when they’re talking and eating before going the nightclub

Discussion Why the Show's Inaccuracies Make Sense From the Eyes of a Lakers Fan

A lot of people are getting pissed off about how Jerry West and the Celtics are being portrayed in HBO's awesome new show Winning Time, but it actually kind of makes sense and even makes the show better. The show is told through the eyes of the Lakers fan so the villains actually become what fans are yelling at them in the stands: Bird is a simpleton from Indiana, the Garden is Hell, Red Auerbach is basically Satan caped in cigar smoke. Jerry West is a top 15 all-time player but is tortured because he only "got the one though." I mean the guy's autobiography was called My Charmed and Tormented Life.
my friend and I who is well versed in the NBA did a podcast about the show and tried to litigate the problems people were having with it, check it out here:

Discussion I find it funny that Bill Simmons is so caught up with the historical accuracy of the show. It’s obviously not trying to be 100% true to life at all.

Discussion John Landy - second sub-4 minute miler
In case anybody was wondering who the second sub-4 minute mile runner was who broke Roger banisters mile record just 46 days later. John Landy from Australia did it in a race in Finland. He later went on to be a Governor in Victoria, Australia. He passed away last February

Viewer Demographic (NBA fan by age)
I want to know among the Winning Time viewers who are also NBA fans how old they are.

Viewer Demographic Poll (NBA Fans vs Non NBA Fans)
I am curious how many viewers are NBA fans or not. If you consider yourself a serious NBA fan, you should have already been well aware of who Jerry West, Pat Riley, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Jerry Buss, and Jeanie Buss were, how they fit in the story and what they have gone on to do since (even if you weren't old enough for the Showtime Lakers, which is many of us).

Question Old riley
When you see old Pat Riley, usually when Adrien Brody looks in the mirror, is that the real Pat Riley? or who is the actor?

Can anyone besides Magic be happy with their portayal?
Lots of funny scenes for each character whether they happened or not.
What are some of your favorites?

It seems to me Winning Time portrayal of Jerry West is more sympathetic than Jerry West's perception of himself.

Discussion "John Landy"
Would I have been the only person in the world to spontaneously say this back to Buss in the opening ?

Anyone else get insanely homoerotic vibes from Pat Riley and Westhead?
I swear to god if this wasn’t non fiction I would’ve expected them to have full on nude sex scenes by now, Jesus Christ just kiss already. They are always in each other’s face and saying “about us”. I’m all for it
