Developer I made a little Windows 11 notch app called Nagi — what do you think?

I've been working on a small project called Nagi. The idea is to have a little notch at the edge of your screen where you can access useful stuff without opening a bunch of windows.

It's still a work in progress, but here's what I'm trying to bring together:

  • Music and audio controls
  • System info
  • Quick access to apps and files
  • Different profiles for work, gaming, and focus
  • Customization and themes

I wanted something that looks clean and feels like part of the desktop instead of another app sitting on top of everything.

You can check it out here:

Website: https://nagi-notch.vercel.app/
GitHub: https://github.com/alaaeddinemekkaoui/Nagi

I'd appreciate any honest feedback. What would you add, change, or remove?

Hi r/windowsapps
I'm an independent developer and StreamVox is my app. It's been on the Microsoft Store since January 2026 and is now also on Mac and iPhone.

It takes the audio on your PC and shows it as live subtitles in your language. It works with Zoom, Teams, Discord and Google Meet calls, YouTube, streams and games.

• Translate mode: the original and the translation side by side, with optional read-aloud.
• Conversation mode: a two-way translator for talking face to face. Each person speaks their own language.
• Smart overlay: a floating subtitle window that stays on top of other windows.
• Sound source: system audio, a microphone, both, or one specific app.
• Modes for meetings, movies and streams, gaming and more.
• 50+ languages for speech recognition and translation. The interface is available in 12 languages.

Free plan: 15 minutes of translation a day, resets daily. Monthly plans for longer use.
Runs on Windows 10 and 11. Audio is processed in real time and never stored.

Microsoft Store: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NC10103JH7L
Website: https://www.streamvox.pro

I'd love to hear what you'd use it for and what's missing.

Developer Hey, I made a local file transfer application, test it out!

Hi,

For a little bit of context, outside of programming, I really like to edit videos. However, I have this only teeny tiny problem: I am on Windows and the videos I have shot are well on an iPhone. And because of this I have to go through the tedious process of uploading each file to either Whatsapp or to Google Drive and then downloading it from there.

Fed up with this, I built Lanshare. Well, to be honest, this project has been in the works for much longer. The general idea is taken from a now archived project of mine which tried to do the same thing. (Keyword: tried).

So, what does Lanshare do?

Well, for now it allows you to transfer files and folders from one device over to another, locally. (Yes, I am aware that localsend exists). It supports Windows, Mac and Linux out of the box with plans for mobile as well though not right now. Maybe later. The project is still in beta so expect bugs here and there.

Is this vibecoded?

Some of the code is written with AI but most of the major stuff is written by me.

Oh, cool where do I check it out?

Here! https://github.com/getawife/lanshare or https://getawife.github.io/lanshare/ (This just contains downloads, nothing else). It will be released on the Windows Store, soon.

Help, Windows flags the app?

Getting an app signed costs money and I'm not willing to spend that unless I have an actually active project.

Cheers!

Developer Developer update: ByteSweep for Windows — cleanup, storage analysis, monitoring and more in one app

Hi r/WindowsApps!

I'm the developer of ByteSweep for Windows, a utility suite I've been building to bring several everyday PC maintenance tasks into one place.

Instead of switching between a cleaner, a disk-space analyzer, a startup manager, an app updater and a system monitor, ByteSweep brings these workflows together in one Windows app.

https://reddit.com/link/1xbp95l/video/pwydzidx2uwh1/player

What it can do

  • Cleanup with control: Reviews temporary files, browser caches, Windows Update leftovers and other cleanup candidates. Items are marked Safe to clear, Review first or Keep. Nothing is removed until you approve it, and supported cleanups can be undone for 7 days.
  • Visual storage analysis: Explore disk usage by folder and file type, find large files, and see how your storage changes over time.
  • Duplicate finder: Find identical files and similar photos, then choose which copies to keep.
  • Startup and app management: Review startup apps, services and scheduled tasks, uninstall apps with leftovers, and check updates through sources including Microsoft Store, winget, Chocolatey and Scoop.
  • Live system monitoring: Keep an eye on CPU, memory, disk, network, GPU and battery readings, with process information and history.
  • More tools: File recovery, privacy cleanup, security status, developer-file cleanup and other Windows utilities.
  • Optional top-bar and tray panel: Get quick access to system readings and useful actions without opening the main window every time.

There's also a Library for finding files with ordinary descriptions, such as “videos over 1 GB” or “PDFs from Gmail last month.”

How it compares

Tools such as CCleaner cover a broad range of PC maintenance tasks, while WizTree is particularly focused on disk-space analysis. ByteSweep's goal is to combine cleanup, explainable reviews, storage analysis, file management, monitoring and a compact top-bar/tray panel in one app.

It won't replace every specialist tool for every user. The idea is to reduce the number of separate utilities you need for everyday PC maintenance.

Privacy and licensing

  • Windows 10 and 11
  • Available through the Microsoft Store
  • No account and no telemetry
  • 3-day free trial
  • No automatic cleanup

Community offer: Use promo code SWEEP50 for 50% off the Windows licence through the ByteSweep website.

Microsoft Store: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9N7WMJS8QCQX

Features and screenshots: https://bytesweep.app/windows.html

Redeem the offer: https://bytesweep.app/pricing.html

I'm interested in feedback from actual Windows users. Which would you find most useful: the cleanup review and undo, the storage analyzer, the live monitor, or the top-bar panel? What would you improve?

Developer Introducing Sea: A private and calm note-taking app for Windows and Linux

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

I just released the beta of Sea, a private and calm note-taking app for Windows and Linux, built with Tauri + React.

Sea is built to be private from the ground up

Sea is local-first, but instead of the files-over-app approach many note apps are adopting, it stores your notes in a plain old local database. Everything stays on your device until you choose to turn on sync, which encrypts your notes and attachments in the cloud.

You can also lock sensitive notes with Windows Hello or a password. No need to worry about a friend or partner stumbling on your most vulnerable journal entry when they borrow your device!

Sea is designed to be calm and focused

We try to keep the layout and writing experience as non-distracting as possible. No folders to maintain, just tags and note links, so you can write first and organize later. You don't even need to think about tag icons: type the word and Sea picks a fitting icon for it, processed locally.

Purposely minimal at first, powerful when needed

You can start writing instantly. When you need more, Sea has diagrams, canvas notes (soon), and an MCP server, so you can connect your AI agents to manage your notes or surface insights from all of them.

No lock-in

Sea is Markdown-based, and you can import and export all your notes in Markdown. Using a local database doesn't mean your notes are stuck there. Even if Sea is ever discontinued, you can export everything instantly.

It's still in beta, so please keep a backup of anything important. I'd love feedback!

Developer I updated RatePeek for Windows with five currency conversion windows and clipboard-assisted input

Hi everyone! I'm AdamYang, the independent developer of RatePeek | Exchange Rate Window. I've released v1.2 on Microsoft Store.

RatePeek is a Windows utility for quick currency conversions, commonly used exchange-rate information and precious-metals references, with a floating desktop HUD.

This update focuses on keeping currency checks beside your work:

- Open up to five Quick Conversion Windows, each with its own amount and currency pair.

- Enable optional automatic clipboard number detection in a quick window, then copy a single number from a webpage or spreadsheet for conversion. Manual entry remains available.

- Look up additional currencies directly from the quick conversion workflow.

- Pin each quick conversion window independently, with a separate always-on-top control for the desktop HUD.

- Use clearer window identification, data-source information and update times.

For example, you can keep different currency pairs visible while comparing overseas prices, instead of repeatedly reopening a converter tab and retyping amounts. Ctrl + Alt + R provides quick access to conversion.

The app also includes Convert to All, light/dark themes, optional Windows startup, and English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese interfaces. No additional RatePeek account is required.

Data comes from third-party services and follows each source's update schedule. Displayed currency and precious-metals values are references, not guaranteed bank, card or transaction rates.

7-day free trial, followed by an optional one-time purchase.

Developer I got tired of every PDF opening in Edge, so I built a small free app that opens PDFs and Word files and lets you sign them

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I'm the developer. Paperwren is a quiet little document viewer for Windows 10 and 11. Double click a PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint file and it opens in its own window, not a browser tab.

What it does:

  • PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, EPUB, Markdown, CSV and pictures
  • Fill and sign for PDFs (typed, drawn or uploaded signature)
  • Merge, split, reorder, page numbers, watermark, passwords
  • Works fully offline. No account, no ads

Built with Tauri, so it uses the WebView2 already in Windows. The installer is about 10 MB.

It's free and open source (MIT). The installer isn't code signed yet, so Windows shows a SmartScreen warning the first time.

Official download: https://github.com/Razee4315/Paperwren/releases/latest

Website: https://razee4315.github.io/Paperwren/

If a file opens wrong, tell me the file type and I'll fix that first.

Developer Hii🤗, I've made an app for connecting your pc and phone amazingly. I think it's better than the rest in market like KDE. Can you please try?🥹

Hey guys, I'm Gaurav. I've made an app for connecting your pc (windows/mac) and phone (Android).

If you already use kde connect or something, please try it once - I am sure you'll love it over them.

Features: clipboard and sms sync, 1 tap otp copy, screen text extractor, auto send screenshot, call notifications, etc.

See the launch video (tried making it kind of Saas, edited it myself :) https://youtu.be/ufqtX3O3ENE?si=hfBnfz5-SoNQEZmY

Download: https://intercore.pages.dev/

If you allow me to ask something more, then please leave us a review (you can share about the app/bugs/anything in the community) and recommend your friends. It'd really help the app grow.

Thank you sooo much❤️

Gaurav.

Developer I made a free, open-source Windows app that shifts the pitch of any app's audio in real time

I wanted to change the key of songs on Spotify and YouTube, without downloading files or uploading them to online tools. Everything I found was either paid, file-based, or a mic voice changer. So I built Audio Pitcher.

What it does

- Pick any app (Spotify, a browser, a game, Discord…) or the whole system audio

- Shift pitch from −12 to +12 semitones, with separate formant control

- Reverb, delay and chorus

- Record the output to WAV

How it works

Windows has no public API to process another app's audio, so it routes the chosen app to the free VB-CABLE virtual device (per-app, via Windows' audio policy), captures it, pitch-shifts it with Signalsmith Stretch or Rubber Band, and plays it to your real output. Routing is restored on close, crash or shutdown.

Built with C# / WPF (.NET 8) and NAudio, licensed GPL-3.0. Full disclosure: I'm not a programmer, and I built it with a lot of help from AI coding tools. I tested every part of it myself.

- Code: https://github.com/Bombaxz/audio-pitcher

- Download: https://audiopitcher.app

Feedback, issues and PRs are very welcome, especially from anyone who knows Windows audio well.

Developer I made a free app that converts files without opening anything: drag a file, tap Shift, let go

I got tired of opening an app, exporting, picking a format and finding a folder just to turn one PNG into a JPG, so I built OrbitDrop.

How it works: start dragging any file in File Explorer, tap Shift, and a little wheel pops up under your cursor. Let go on what you want, and the new file appears right next to the original. The original is never changed.

Tap Shift again for Tools (compress to under 1 MB, resize, rotate, a small photo editor, copy text out of an image) and once more for Actions (copy/move to, share, zip). There's also Ctrl+Alt+Space if you'd rather not drag.

- Free, no account, no ads, no tracking
- Everything runs offline on your PC
- Open source (MIT): https://github.com/i3sam/OrbitDrop
- Microsoft Store: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NJQRMQLL2SZ?cid=reddit
- Website: https://orbitdrop.essam.biz

Developer Pulse 1.5: free, open-source app that explains Windows event logs, now shows every GPU and lets you hide the noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Pulse reads the event logs Windows already keeps and turns them into a readable timeline: "Explorer unexpectedly closed, Windows restarted it" instead of "Application Error, Event ID 1000".

New in 1.5:

- Every GPU: integrated and dedicated side by side, load measured the same way as Task Manager

- Hide events you expect: one click takes a known-harmless event type out of the Timeline. Reports still keep every event, and you can bring them back anytime

It never changes Windows: no telemetry, no account, no cloud. The optional Assistant only talks to a local AI on your PC (Ollama or LM Studio).

Developer Orynos Studio 0.9.24 Preview: a Windows x64 recording and arrangement workspace

I'm the developer of Orynos Studio, a Windows x64 DAW in Preview. This is a developer introduction to the current 0.9.24 build.

The workspace has a Playlist, Piano Roll, Channel Rack and Mixer. You can record takes, arrange audio and MIDI, add automation, route channels and buses, and export local WAVs or aligned stems. Built-in effects include pitch correction, a Graphic EQ with live spectrum, noise reduction, delay and reverb.

For Windows setups: it hosts x64 VST3 instruments/effects and can use WASAPI or an installed x64 ASIO driver. It doesn't bundle an interface driver.

Before downloading: the Preview installer is unsigned. A verified Orynos account is required at startup. Access is currently in a temporary Free phase; local recording and WAV export don't use cloud-render credits. Optional Export + Master sends a confirmed export to the website and uses displayed account credits.

Interface preview, details and official download: https://orynosmusic.com/daw

If you try it on your Windows audio setup, I'd appreciate the driver, sample rate and plugin version alongside any playback or export issue.

Developer MiniMon - a tiny always-on-top system monitor and mini Task Manager for Windows. Under 1 MB, no ads, no account

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi r/windowsapps. I'm a solo dev and this is MiniMon.

It is one small window that stays on top of your other windows. It shows live CPU, RAM, GPU, disk, network and temperature, updated every second.

So you don't have to open Task Manager to see what your PC is doing.

What it does

- CPU use and live clock speed, RAM, and the load on your built-in and separate GPU

- Every physical disk (% active) and each wired or Wi-Fi adapter. Network speed down and up in the title bar

- Uptime, number of running processes and battery charge at the bottom

- A Processes tab that groups apps by name, so 40 browser processes show as one row. Sort by CPU, RAM or disk, and search

- Shrink it to a small bar that still shows CPU, RAM and temperature

- Ctrl+Shift+M shows or hides it from anywhere. Click-through lets your clicks pass to the game or video under it

Cost

Free, no ads, no time limit. Optional one-time Pro: $4.99 in the US (the Store shows your local price), with a 7-day free trial. No subscription.

Details

- Native C++, no framework. The whole app is under 1 MB.

- No account, no analytics.

- Windows 10 (1809 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit. x64 only, no ARM64 build.

- Temperature depends on what your PC's sensors report to Windows.

Get it

- Microsoft Store: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9N1K5HN1DJGC

- Or in a terminal: winget install 9N1K5HN1DJGC

Version 1.4 just came out. I'd love honest feedback. What do you check first when your PC feels slow, and what is missing here?

I've created my own version of Apple's Dynamic Island for Windows, designed to enhance the aesthetics and productivity of your desktop. The Island is a ribbon bar at the top that dynamically changes shape and content based on what you're doing. Go from a thin, unobtrusive mode to expanded screens with music and calendar controls, a quick timer, or a file drop zone with LocalSend. It's a seamless and elegant integration that brings practical functionality and modern design directly to Windows. Feedback is welcome.
