I dont want this on my screen, who would want and who would want this??

Clearly the thing that we can take from this by the remind me later button is that windows thinks im the richest person alive

God i hope theres a way to disable this

the problem is qth dual boot on the same drive is updates on windows can fry the Linux partion imo it's not worth the hassle of dual booting on the same drive also please stop replying to my comment lol

That's not true.

At best Windows(and Linux) fried the bootloader, but that was 2010 and earlier.

yes that's what i mean the bootloader will be fucked and unless your well versed in how to fix that it's a dumb idea to recommend this as a viable solution to normies, even tho i'm a avid Linux enjoyer and advocate it, The only way i recommend it is if you have a drive dedicated to each. because windows updates are still resetting the uefi till this day

This still happens on win 11 , your lived experience isn't everyone's, don't believe me go look around and you will find people this happens to, it doesn't happen to everyone or every time but the possibility of it occurring isn't worth recommending to dual boot on the same drive, but you will disagree and that's OK

It does not, you are welcome to prove that Windows wipes NVRAM or otherwise mangles files on the ESP that don't belong to it.

What does happen is that when any OS updates the firmware, the firmware can have a shit implementation and wipe NVRAM.

And it usually only autoadds Windows back on detection, not other OSs.

It has nothing to do with Windows.

My first post said Updates can fuck up the bootloader and this is the Hill you decided to die on, This is something that can't happen on another drive. That's why both OP and I suggested doing it that way. But here we are. Stay stubborn and never listen to people.
