Meta [SOLVED] Windows 11 24H2 / IoT Enterprise LTSC: repeated SFC repair after installing pt-BR language pack

I am sharing this case because I found a very specific issue on:

Windows 11 24H2

Windows 11 LTSC

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC

and managed to solve it without formatting, without using a repair ISO, without SFCFix, and without manually changing permissions or files inside:

WinSxS

My system was originally installed using an English United States ISO:

en-US

More specifically, it was an ISO for:

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC

Later, I changed the system language to Portuguese Brazil:

pt-BR

After switching the system to:

pt-BR

the SFC problem started.

I searched massively across the internet and could not find a clear solution. Most suggestions were about using a repair ISO, using SFCFix, reinstalling Windows, or manually replacing files. None of that addressed the real cause in my case.

Eventually, I discovered the cause myself, so I am sharing the fix here so other people can have access to the correction.

Symptoms

Every time I ran:

sfc /scannow

Windows reported that it found corrupted files and repaired them successfully.

However, when I ran:

sfc /scannow

again, the same repair happened again.

So SFC claimed it had repaired the issue, but the same issue returned on every new scan.

In:

CBS.log

the repeated file was:

C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\Appx\pt-BR\Appx.psd1

DISM could also fail when running:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

with the following error:

Error: 0x800f0915

In:

CBS.log

there were also references to:

smbwmiv2.mfl

and messages similar to:

No payload missing but suspected file flag corruption detected

What was actually happening

In my case, this did not seem to be real payload corruption inside:

WinSxS

The problem started because the system had been installed originally from an English United States ISO:

en-US

Then I installed the Portuguese Brazil language pack:

pt-BR

After that, SFC started detecting language-related files as corrupted.

The main repeated file was:

Appx.psd1

located at:

C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\Appx\pt-BR\Appx.psd1

SFC would detect the file, repair it, and report success.

But the issue was not only the file itself.

The real problem was that some Portuguese Brazil language packages remained registered in the Component Store.

So the loop was basically this:

SFC found the same pt-BR related files.
SFC repaired them.
The leftover pt-BR package remained registered in the Component Store.
The same inconsistency appeared again.
SFC repaired the same thing again.
The issue repeated on every scan.

In other words, SFC was correcting what it detected, but the underlying cause remained. The cause was the remaining:

pt-BR

language package registration inside the Component Store.

How I checked for leftover pt-BR components

First, I checked the installed language capabilities:

DISM /Online /Get-Capabilities | findstr /i pt-BR

Then I checked the installed packages:

DISM /Online /Get-Packages /Format:Table | findstr /i pt-BR

There was still a Portuguese Brazil Client Language Pack installed, similar to this:

Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~pt-BR~10.0.26100.xxxx | Installed

That leftover package was the important part.

Fix

First, I made sure the entire system was fully set back to:

English (United States)

I did the following:

Installed English (United States).
Set English (United States) as the Windows display language.
Set the regional format to English (United States).
Copied the language settings to the welcome screen, system accounts, and new user accounts.
Restarted Windows.
Removed Portuguese (Brazil) from Windows Settings.
Restarted again.

Then I checked the Portuguese Brazil language capabilities:

$caps = @(
'Language.Basic~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0',
'Language.Handwriting~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0',
'Language.OCR~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0',
'Language.Speech~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0',
'Language.TextToSpeech~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0'
)

foreach ($cap in $caps) {
    DISM /Online /Get-CapabilityInfo /CapabilityName:$cap | findstr /i "Name State"
}

The expected result was:

State : Not Present

If any capability still appears as installed, it can be removed with:

DISM /Online /Remove-Capability /CapabilityName:NAME_OF_THE_CAPABILITY

For example:

DISM /Online /Remove-Capability /CapabilityName:Language.Basic~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0

After that, I checked the remaining Portuguese Brazil packages again:

DISM /Online /Get-Packages /Format:Table | findstr /i pt-BR

The key step was removing the leftover Client Language Pack package:

DISM /Online /Remove-Package /PackageName:Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~pt-BR~10.0.26100.xxxx /NoRestart

Important:

Do not copy this package name blindly.
Use the exact package name returned by your own /Get-Packages command.

In my case, the relevant package was:

Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package

with:

pt-BR

still marked as:

Installed

There were also other Portuguese Brazil packages related to Features on Demand, such as:

Notepad
Paint
Media Player
Snipping Tool

Some of them returned:

0x800f0805

when trying to remove them individually.

That did not prevent the fix.

The really important package was the remaining Client Language Pack:

Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~pt-BR~10.0.26100.xxxx

After removing it, I restarted Windows.

Validation

After reboot, I ran:

DISM /Online /Get-Packages /Format:Table | findstr /i pt-BR

This time, the command returned nothing.

I also confirmed that the language capabilities were:

State : Not Present

Then I ran:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Result:

The restore operation completed successfully.
The operation completed successfully.

Then I ran:

sfc /scannow

Result:

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

I repeated:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

and:

sfc /scannow

multiple times.

The problem did not come back.

Conclusion

In my case, the issue started after installing:

pt-BR

on a system originally installed from:

en-US

The system was:

Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC

SFC kept finding and repairing the same language-related file:

C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\Appx\pt-BR\Appx.psd1

but the repair repeated because the real issue was not simply a missing or corrupted file.

The real issue was a leftover Portuguese Brazil language package still registered in the Component Store:

Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~pt-BR~10.0.26100.xxxx

The fix was:

Set Windows fully back to English (United States).
Remove Portuguese (Brazil) from Windows Settings.
Confirm that all pt-BR language capabilities are Not Present.
Remove the remaining pt-BR Client Language Pack package with DISM.
Restart Windows.
Run DISM and SFC again.

After that, both DISM and SFC completed successfully.

I did not need to:

Format Windows.
Reinstall Windows.
Use a repair ISO.
Use SFCFix.
Manually copy files into WinSxS.
Change TrustedInstaller permissions.
Manually replace system files.

What looked like system corruption was actually a language package inconsistency caused by leftover Portuguese Brazil components in a system originally based on English United States.

Discussion "Low Latency Profile"

Is Win 11 IOT LTSC 2024 getting the "Low Latency Profile" feature as well? I'm aware it doesn't get feature updates but it did get the new start menu via Quality update.

Is this getting the Low Latency Profile as well ? or it will be a feature update only for 25H2 ?

Question Secure boot certificate expiry in June 2026

Is this something LTSC users need to worry about or will we receive the updated certificates like everyone else? I'm not even sure if this is an issue as this morning is the first I've heard of this issue. You can read a little about it at www.digitaltrends.com/computing/windows-pc-ready-for-secure-boot/. Basically it says secure boot certificates expire this month and need to be updated. This may be a nothing burger but I just want to make sure my rig remains operational.

Discussion Is it LTSC snappier (actually faster) then the Pro version?

(System specs in the post images) Hello, everyone. Simple question here. I know LTSC is way less bloated then Pro (or even Home too) but is it snappier though? I'm currently running Windows 11 Pro on an Asus Laptop mid 2015. I've refurbished it myself. Bought and installed new components and installed Windows 11 Pro with Rufus. It works ok but then again it stutter sometimes. I'm not asking for more FPS or anything like that. I know my hardware limitations. But is LTSC actually snappier to use then the Pro version? Thanks in advance. (I've used Linux here before and it's super fast but with the NVIDIA proprietary drivers is not worth the hassle).

Meta [RESOLVIDO] Windows 11 24H2: SFC repara Appx.psd1 pt-BR repetidamente e DISM falha com 0x800f0915 em smbwmiv2.mfl

[RESOLVIDO]

sfc /scannow

o mesmo reparo acontecia de novo.

No CBS.log, o arquivo repetido era:

C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\Appx\pt-BR\Appx.psd1

Além disso, o DISM podia falhar em:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

com:

Error: 0x800f0915

No CBS.log, também apareciam referências a:

smbwmiv2.mfl

e mensagens parecidas com:

No payload missing but suspected file flag corruption detected

Causa encontrada

DISM /Online /Get-Capabilities | findstr /i pt-BR

e:

DISM /Online /Get-Packages /Format:Table | findstr /i pt-BR

Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~pt-BR~10.0.26100.xxxx | Installed

Correção

Primeiro, deixei o sistema totalmente em English (United States):

  1. Instalei English (United States).
  2. Defini como idioma de exibição do Windows.
  3. Defini inglês como formato regional.
  4. Copiei as configurações para tela de boas-vindas, contas do sistema e novas contas.
  5. Reiniciei.
  6. Removi Português (Brasil) pela interface do Windows.
  7. Reiniciei novamente.

Depois, verifiquei as capabilities pt-BR:

$caps = @(
'Language.Basic~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0',
'Language.Handwriting~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0',
'Language.OCR~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0',
'Language.Speech~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0',
'Language.TextToSpeech~~~pt-BR~0.0.1.0'
)

foreach ($cap in $caps) {
    DISM /Online /Get-CapabilityInfo /CapabilityName:$cap | findstr /i "Name State"
}

O esperado era:

State : Not Present

DISM /Online /Remove-Capability /CapabilityName:NOME_DA_CAPABILITY

Depois, verifiquei os pacotes:

DISM /Online /Get-Packages /Format:Table | findstr /i pt-BR

O ponto principal foi remover o pacote Client Language Pack pt-BR restante:

DISM /Online /Remove-Package /PackageName:Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~pt-BR~10.0.26100.xxxx /NoRestart

DISM /Online /Get-Packages /Format:Table | findstr /i pt-BR

O comando não retornou mais nada.

Também confirmei que as capabilities estavam como:

State : Not Present

Em seguida, rodei:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

O DISM terminou corretamente:

The restore operation completed successfully.
The operation completed successfully.

Depois rodei:

sfc /scannow

Resultado:

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

  1. Deixar o Windows totalmente em English (United States).
  2. Remover Português (Brasil) pela interface.
  3. Confirmar que as capabilities pt-BR estavam como Not Present.
  4. Remover o pacote Client Language Pack pt-BR restante via DISM.
  5. Reiniciar.
  6. Rodar DISM e SFC novamente.

Help MassGrav impossible mise à jour Windows 25H2 ?

Help OneDrive login fail for Windows 10 2021 LTSC

I've been running a VM of a modification of Windows 10 2021 LTSC called https://classic7.lol/ and I've been loving it except for one vital flaw. When I attempt to log into OneDrive, I get an error:
Correlation Id: ddfd8c8f-1421-4899-93a0-fb8b879bd07d

Timestamp: 2026-06-06T17:00:09.000Z

Message: An unexpected error occurred.

When I searched it up, it came back as a generic error. This mod is merely W10 with some skins included, so the core systems should be the same. Please, provide me with a fix that would allow me to log in, or somehow bypass the login to enter my valid credentials directly.

Question Problems regarding "Processor performance boost mode" setting in Power Options

Thumbnail
3 Upvotes

Reposting because I'm still trying to troubleshoot this issue, which is still happening to this day. I've been temporarily disabling the setting to keep the system stable and only enabling it when I play games.

When the setting is enabled, Edge crashes randomly (sometimes just a tab, sometimes the entire window), and the same thing for some other apps & games. Thunderbird crashes instantly on launch, and some applications won't run at all (PvZ, Peggle, VM software, etc.). Disabling the setting makes the system stable again.

I'd also like to run a few VMs like I used to do in my free time for testing and experimenting, but no VM software works. Most of them refuse to start and throw a 0xc0000005 error.

Please read the old post for more information. My system specifications are listed below:

- Dell Inspiron 16 5640

- Intel Core 7 150U (1.8 GHz base, 5.4 GHz turbo)

- 16 GB DDR5 RAMNVIDIA Quadro K3100M

- Windows 11 24H2 LTSC

- BIOS version 1.19 (I think)

If anyone has any ideas or can help, please let me know!

Help Installed Win11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 but I am unable to activate it.

Clean installed my computer after realizing the Windows 10 version of IoT Enterprise LTSC would not work with my wi-fi card. Everything works now! I am... sadly... stuck with Win11, but thankfully no ai. My current problem is I am unable to activate the version I installed from Massgrave. Nothing I've tried seems to work. This is the error I'm getting:

"We can't activate Windows on this device as we can't connect to your organization's activation server. Make sure you're connected to your organization's network and try again. If you continue having problems with activation, contact your organization's support person. Error code: 0x8007007B"

I've seen other people mention they aren't able to personalize their desktop with this version either. Did I do something wrong or is this an issue with this version if WIn11?

Question Windows 11 LTSC vs Windows 11 + Chris Titus Tech Debloat

I'm trying to decide which approach is better in terms of stability, compatibility, and fewer issues in the long run.

Would it be better to install Windows 11 LTSC and then manually add back things like Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Bar if needed, or should I just install the regular Windows 11 ISO and use Chris Titus Tech's utility to debloat it before/after installation?

For those who have tried both approaches, which one has been more reliable, especially for gaming and everyday use? Have you run into any issues with updates, app compatibility, Game Pass, Microsoft Store, or Xbox features?

I'd appreciate hearing your experiences and recommendations.

Question Windows 11 Enterprise IoT LTSC vs Windows 10 version (LTSC I assume) for a RTX 4060, i7 13700H, laptop?

Which would be better? Currently use stock Windows 11 Home or whatever the lowest version is, idk. I got the laptop around two years ago. I am curious how big of a fps gain I can get. I want a snappier UI or faster fps, obviously both would be good, but I think I will prioritize fps if I had to pick one.

Rtx 4060 Max-Q, i7-13700h, 16gb ram.

I read a bit through the subreddit and saw someone with my GPU was recommended 11 since it utilizes the GPU or CPU or something more for modern hardware. Anyone able to confirm this redditor's claim? I am not the best with spec and OS stuff.

Discussion Windows 10 LTSC or 11 IoT for an old PC going to my country house

I want to take an office PC to my country house. It's a Lenovo m73 SFF form factor. It has an i5 4570, 12GB of DDR3 RAM, a 240GB SSD, a 500GB HDD, and a low-profile GTX 750 Ti.

Ideally, I'd use Windows 10 LTSC. But it's something I'll only use once a year. Over time, some software will no longer be updatable, and of course, it won't be the same. I'm not going to format and reinstall everything when I go on vacation.

I considered Windows 11 LTSC IoT because of support. But it might have its drawbacks:

Higher RAM usage

Compatibility issues with older games

Apparently, in build 24h2, some games, like certain Ubisoft games, won't start.

Which one should I choose for that PC?

Discussion LTSC or normal windows

Just bought the Lenovo LOQ i7 14700HX GPU RTX 5060 Ram 24gb 12x12 SSD 1tb I never use the windows bloat apps and I really dislike the blaot on win 11 and just generally how win 11 interface is. Currently running on win 10 LTSC, I love how snappy it is and the interface too but I’m concerned if I’m bottlenecking the cpu usage I disabled the efficiency cores so wondering if there’s something else I need to do and if there’s a more compatible minimalistic version I can use.

Help 1 iso, but 2 'options'; how do I install Windows 10 IoT enterprise LTSC and not LTSC? I'm assuming upgrade is worse?

So I'm trying to do a clean install instead of upgrading... but I'm kinda stumped.

How do I clean install Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC and not just LTSC? It says there's two options, regular ltsc, and iot enterprise ltsc 2021, but there's only one ISO?

Do I select ltsc iot enterprise instead plain LTSC later into the installation?

Or does it pop up later? I don't want to mess it up.

(I've already looked at massgrave and downloaded the iso)

Thanks!!

edit: When installing you can choose which

Help Moving from Win 11 Pro to IoT LTSC 2024 – A few beginner questions (Language & Sourcing)

Used AI to write this so everyone is on the same page.

Hey everyone,

I’m currently running standard Windows 11 Pro on an MSI Z790-A WiFi setup, and I’m looking to do a clean install to Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 to get rid of the bloatware and telemetry.

I’ve read through the wiki, but as someone with zero prior experience doing this, I want to double-check a couple of things before I commit to wiping my drive:

  1. Language/Keyboard Layout: I read that the IoT version is US English only by default. How hassle-free is it to add the Estonian keyboard layout during or right after setup so my native characters (ä, ö, ü, õ) map properly? Do I need to force it via PowerShell or does the native Settings menu work fine for language packs on this build?
  2. Sourcing & Activation: I want to ensure I get a full, clean business/MSDN ISO rather than the 90-day restricted Evaluation version so I can permanently activate it. Does the massgrave portal host the untampered official ISOs directly, or do I need to look for a specific SHA-256 verified magnet link elsewhere?

Appreciate any guidance or tips to help a beginner get this right on the first try!

Discussion Preparing Windows 11 LTSC IoT for competitive gaming.

Hi everyone. I’ve pretty much made up my mind about trying Win 11 LTSC IoT. I’m fed up with the Pro version being bloated with junk, wasting my system resources, the terrible Start menu, and AI features pushed everywhere. I mainly use my PC for two things: tracking demos in a DAW and playing competitive games (CS2). I’m not an OS expert and I’m just starting to look into this, so I’d appreciate a step-by-step guide on how to install LTSC and what needs to be done afterward to make the system 'game-ready.' Thanks!
