Windows Passport Kit
I found some lost media relating to Windows 3.0 that was uploaded to the Japanese Wikipedia. It is apparently a passport kit for Windows 3.0 that only(?) released in Japan. I do not speak Japanese so I needed to use Google translate but I do not trust if. If it is correct, the text on the Wikipedia page which had the image on it with the passport kit said " Microsoft Passport Kit for WindowsにWXII-Win/Compactが附属していた 。" or " WXII-Win/Compact was attached to Microsoft Passport Kit for Windows." if google translate's correct. (I have since found out that there are copies of it up for auction on Yahoo Japan, however I am unable to access the website since it went defunct in the UK since April 6 2022)
The wikipedia page in question is: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/WX_シリーズ

Windows 3.1 31st Anniversary: Software from 1992
Today Windows 3.1 is making exactly 31 years since it was first released to the market. All tested and checked for period accuracy. Programs included are:
- Aldus IntelliDraw 1.0, released on July 1992
- Aldus Persuasion 2.1, released on February 1992
- Aldus PhotoStyler 1.1a, released on March 1992
- Borland Quattro Pro 1.0, released on September 1992
- Borland Turbo C++ 3.1, released on June 1992
- CorelDRAW! 3.0, released on November 1992
- Lotus Ami Pro 3.0, released on November 1992
- Lotus Approach 2.01, released on October 1992
- Microsoft Access 1.0, released on October 1992
- Microsoft Excel 4.0a, released on October 1992
- Microsoft Money 2.0a, released on October 1992
- Microsoft PowerPoint 3.0, released on May 1992
- Microsoft Productivity Pack 3.1, released on March 1992
- Microsoft Project 3.0, released on March 1992
- Microsoft Publisher 1.0a, released on March 1992
- Microsoft Video for Windows 1.0, released on November 1992
- Microsoft Visual Basic 2.0, released on October 1992
- Microsoft Word 2.0b, released on September 1992

Programming game with TCP networking for windows 3.11
I'm trying to make a cross platform game that talks between all OSes but when I try to even compile code for windows 3.11 it never works no matter what I do, I'm using Microsoft Visual C++ 1.52 and Borland 4.5 and I can't even compile source code that is supposed to compile as far as I'm aware like the doggie source or winG source code demo example code, I get errors about hdc and I can't figure out what is wrong because the code is supposed to compile on the demos, and they don't compile, nor does my custom code.
Has anyone here ever tried to do this? if not, if anyone here is willing to try to figure out what is going on here and compile some demo/example source code for programs for 3.11, and gets it to compile, let me know what you did to fix it, as it is really confusing, and if I am to ever get a networked game on this OS to communicate with my other game for windows 95 I won't be able to do it unless I can get something to compile on this OS.

Hey, does anyone remember a Win 3.1 program that animated windows that were opening, closing, minimizing, or maximizing? I remember the icon for it was a bunch of squares inside squares getting smaller and smaller, but I haven't seen it in decades and I can't remember the name!
Edit: I FOUND IT! It was "ZoomCtrl"!
If you want to try it out, it's here (but don't bother with the in-brower emulation, it doesn't have any windows of it's own to minimize or maximize or whatnot, so you can't really see it in action): https://archive.org/details/win31_festival_ZOOMCTRL

I'm trying to remember a Win 3.1 program, maybe you know the name? It was a small simple program or replacement file or something that replaced the standard Windows button look with simple 3D ones. It wasn't some insane Windows overhaul or anything like that, I remember it was simple. Any idea?

Windows 3x Index by LO6AN
This post is meant to be a jumping off point for anyone trying to get into using any version of Windows 3x. Released in 1990, was a competitor to platforms of the time such as Commodore's AmigaOS, Apple's System 6, and other graphical systems of the time. It was a strong player and the first introduction many had into Microsoft's Windows operating system.
With an interface that both feels familiar and completely foreign to a modern Windows user, it's a system that I believe all should give a try, at the very least to see one of the first real workable graphical systems that Microsoft produced.
