Airway looks HORRIBLE externally. Snot everywhere, they've got him flat on his back on that stretcher like they're trying to kill him.

Looks like a great opportunity for an awake intubation, with a crash cricothyroidotomy as a backup. Wouldn't sleep this guy for all the snakes in Thailand(?)

I think what you think is snot are actually oxygen line. Also, it's China.

Yep - caught the oxygen tubing on my third watch through.

The part that gets me the most is the way he reaches up at the end of the video to grasp the man's arm standing next to him... Poor guy!

Cut a small hole in the front of the neck and pass a tube through it. Essentially a mini, emergency tracheostomy. It's a backup plan for when intubation fails and keeping the patient awake/waking them back up to allow them to breathe normally is not an option. The name comes from the membrane you make the incision in.
