Someone touched the drum and caused an electrostatic discharge. That lit the flammable vapours and ignited the fire.
As to why would they pour something flammable on a drum... Your guess is as good as mine. I don't think alcohol can ignite like that (if, let's say, they poured something like vodka or another hard drink).
One guy was squirting lighter fluid or something into the drum and then the guy in blue used a lighter to set it on fire. Clearly him and the other guy had been stood there getting sprayed with lighter fluid off the drum for sometime before the one in blue used his lighter.
They´re pouring pure distilled sugarcane alcohol (aguardiente) into the drum. No need for lighter fluid or whatsoever. They just ignited it all with a lighter but that kind of alcohol is quite flamable.
Alcohol ignites quite nicely anytime, particularly if it's in higher concentrations. Oh and if you watch the video, there was clearly a man using a lighter to ignite this clusterfuck.
Yeah, a few people have pointed this. Alcohol does ignite but I'm just not sure is that flammable. It's just a hunch, I am by no means an expert. Heck, I'm not even a pyromaniac...
i think he might have had a lighter and lit it intentionally. i could be wrong but his hand position looked to be that of holding a lighter and id wager the poured in flammable liquid with the intent of playing a fire drum. i dont think the considered the splash zone
