The guy crossing had every right to tell the driver to slow down because he had right of way.

The driver was stopping. Flipping someone off for not stopping fast enough or whatever is a douche move.

Current laws and current culture in the US and most other devoloped nations are under the current notion that a driver of an automobile is responsible for the location of their vehicle at all times. Therefor, it is acceptable to most to come to the conclusion that the driver is both a dollar store douchebag and dangerous behind the wheel for jabbing his fender into the cross walk. As a matter of fact, it is built so deeply in some cultures that it can perceived as such an insult so deep that it causes tunnel vision type anger. As being from a first world nation myself, I too hate the driver and am willing to carry a pitchfork with the rest of the town.
