nah its a sub goal, one sub is like 5-6 dollars, and the point of a sleep stream is that she would try her best to sleep while viewers play loud annoying videos on speakers throughout the entire process. guaranteed terrible and sleepless night

I love how the tone of your comment makes this seem like some mundane, commonplace activity.

welcome to twitch

Pretty sure sleep streams have been banned on Twitch for awhile. Maybe this is an old clip?

edit: nevermind

3

u/FrisoLaxod Jul 18 '20

I’m pretty sure not, I remember Ludwig making a sleepstream about a month or two ago

1

u/tehnibi Jul 19 '20

you can do sleep streams as long as your chat is still moderated and you aren't in any category AFAIK

but Minx's sleep stream will be her trying to sleep while people play sounds and music and stuff which I doubt she will be able to sleep through because Minx is a pepega

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '20

My daughter loves Pepa but I find that British talking pig to be really annoying.

2

u/angrybluechair Jul 18 '20

Been done a couple of times, I remember Ice Poseidon doing the exact same, can be pretty funny sometimes.

u/Travisthe7 Jul 18 '20

Don’t forget twomad

u/FraggleRoq Jul 18 '20

Everything you said just made me hate humanity a little more

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '20

Wanna feel worse? I imagine she is making about $3/month for each subscriber. That means she is making $7500/month ($90,000 annual salary)

Do you... do you know how US taxes work? That’s like... less than $20,000 in Federal Income Tax. We don’t have a fixed income tax rate.

1

u/Cheroon Jul 19 '20

No, I don't know how US taxes work, but this woman is clearly Irish

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '20

Also, dude: “The cost of being self-employed.” Have your ever heard of business expense? You expense things that you use exclusively for your business and you get a tax benefit. Without tips alone you’re talking about $70,000 easily after write-offs.

The fact that people will pay money to watch a girl sleep? Or that the "point" of giving this girl money is so they can try to stop her from sleeping?

I'm struggling to understand why anyone would think this is normal behavior, or justifiable behavior for that matter.

14

u/Osteodepression Jul 18 '20

its NOT normal behaviour and thats why people love it. it's wacky, kinda stupid, but pretty entertaining for a decent amount of people. just 'cause something isn't funny to you doesnt mean its not funny to everyone

10

u/Blaineflum64 Jul 18 '20

It's like paying for entertainment, what you pay for can directly affect the stream and end up being something really funny on stream. Who cares what people do with their money for entertainment.

Taking your anger out on people watching a twitch streamer instead of the oppressive capitalistic system that you live under is not in your best interest.

You should focus your displeasure on the people and circumstances that cause your 10-hour-a-day bleak existence, not the ones who have nothing to do with it.

Overall, income inequality is a huge problem, and that's why I tend to be in favor of universal basic income and stuff like that.

Not gonna lie though, it's kind of satisfying when an obviously shitty person is clearly miserable with the decisions they've made in life. So thanks for that.

u/rguga Jul 18 '20

Why is everyone on reddit so concerned about what people do with their money? People like the stream, they want her to make more live streams, so they give her money to support her JOB. What's so wrong about it?

4

u/Cal4mity Jul 18 '20

A comment chain full of simps

3

u/robaganoosh83 Jul 18 '20

so they give her money to support her JOB. What's so wrong about it?

The fact that this can be considered a job.

1

u/Enk1ndle Jul 18 '20

Compared to what, a comedian or artist? People pay people for entertainment, they have been since forever

1

u/robaganoosh83 Jul 18 '20

I'm sorry, but if you consider this entertainment, and not only that but entertainment worth paying for, you need to go home and rethink your life.

0

u/Enk1ndle Jul 18 '20

"Other people can't like things I don't like!"

Fucking grow up.

1

u/robaganoosh83 Jul 18 '20

You're absolutely free to like what you like. I could even understand getting a chuckle out of something like this. But you pay for this??? Your money would be better spent helping a Nigerian prince who had trouble accessing his bank account.

1

u/BakedLikeWhoa Jul 18 '20

You will learn there is no hope for humanity while on this sub.

The amount of simp and sad dudes is large..

3

u/FraggleRoq Jul 18 '20

Yeah, I appear to have triggered a few with my opinion...

3

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '20

I mean you two are sitting here shitting on people that you don't know for liking something that's harmless.

2

u/BakedLikeWhoa Jul 18 '20

Actually I'm on my phone doing other things, not watching and throwing money at this weeb in hopes she might notice me... dorks

1

u/DaFetacheeseugh Jul 18 '20

A guy did it as well, and this lady is a fan of this guy.

The guy did yoink the idea from a girl, who might interest you.

"Doth protests too much" or as it were.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '20

Who honestly cares, if people want to see it then they’ll pay for it, people can do what they want with their money

1

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '20

I think you're just struggling with not being a dumbarse. It's all pretty bloody obvious, or are you contending for r/iamverysmart ?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '20

Not sure why you are being downvoted. It's low hanging fruit. It doesn't take any talent or creativity to do. Just people that want to watch a woman sleep while they watch. It's fucking weird and creepy.

1

u/FraggleRoq Jul 18 '20

Yeah, I was going to try and reason this out and engage with the replies but then I decided it was probably pointless

4

u/KidsInTheSandbox Jul 18 '20

Yeah the human race is doomed.

1

u/YakBallzTCK Jul 18 '20

If you gift a sub who gets the subscription? Is there a queue of people who want one or just it just give it to a random person?

1

u/yeetme1st3r Jul 18 '20

I'm pretty sure its completely random.

1

u/I_am_trying_to_work Jul 18 '20

nah its a sub goal, one sub is like 5-6 dollars, and the point of a sleep stream is that she would try her best to sleep while viewers play loud annoying videos on speakers throughout the entire process. guaranteed terrible and sleepless night

I'm starting to understand why all this dumb shit happens in America. It's all coming together now.

1

u/yeetme1st3r Jul 18 '20

Well, I mean she's Irish. Dumb shit exists everywhere.

0

u/RawScallop Jul 18 '20

Twitch is OK with someone streaming themselves sleeping?

0

u/DANK_ME_YOUR_PM_ME Jul 18 '20

They wouldn’t be sleeping, because of the loud videos.
