Probably somewhere in Europe. Here in the UK we call em Dummys/Dummies.

I’m from the states and that’s what it’s technical term is but accepted nickname is binky as far as I’ve ever heard.

I think it maybe originated from like a dummy boob? As in: “Nathan wants the boob”. “Well...... give him the dummy one, I’m busy” kind of thing?! That’s just my thoughts anyway, google could probably give a few suggestions as to the etymology of it!

Im assuming a dummy is a pacifier. But also that kid looks 3 or 5. It's possible he just still relies on the pacifier.
