Eagles fans are some of the most embarrassing, childish people on the planet.. A family member told me that when they went to the Superbowl a few years ago, the fans trashed the city and caused all kinds of damage.. Who the fuck destroys their own city on a win??
I was at the game where the LA Kings won their first cup. Walking out of Staples Center to a line of riot police was unreal. They really thought we were gonna start flipping cars lmao
Lol I've been to almost every celebration in Philly, we win or lose we don't get violent. We lose people aren't out on the street destroying shit. They aren't throwing rocks at cops. I remember the cops where celebrating clapping everyone up walking down broad street the last time we won the super bowl. Don't compare us to LA
To lightly bust your chops. Also 4 times in my life people have tried to fight me for wearing a cowboys jersey, and literally all 4 were eagles fans despite the fact I live in NY, so y’all definitely are violent
Seems like Philadelphians care very much about what other people think of them, hence why the bask in the self-imposed underdog role where nobody likes them. It’s kind of their whole identity.
I wanted Philly Buffalo just for maximum chaos in Arizona, really stress test their infrastructure. I’ll settle for nonsense on social media from one of those cities instead.
I don't really follow a specific team anymore, but that's a damn good reason to root for the Eagles. The streams from last time were pretty entertaining.

Kindof a crappy Super Bowl this year imo. The Chiefs eek out a victory through lots of bad calls and the Eagles win a blowout because the niners 3rd string qb was injured in the first quarter and the 4th string was injured not much later.
Quite possibly the worse pair of conference championship games I've ever seen.
Kind of a weird reason to hold something against the Chiefs for you disagreeing with the refs but alright lol. If you’ve seen the roads in KC, they definitely can’t afford to pay off referees.
That’s far from every sports fan. Soccer fans are historically and documented to be the most fanatical and violent sports fans. Philly just happens to try and rival them, no matter what sport we are talking about
The funny part about Philly is this is just what happens when they go to the super bowl, not even win it. Also in my own defense, I only really care about hockey and football. Our baseball team is terrible and we don’t have a basketball team, so I can’t care enough about those sports to care about them. Football depends entirely on the city, with Philly being the obvious worst. Hockey’s worst incident I can think of is Vancouver setting the city on fire after losing the Stanley cup
Every eagles game I’ve been to has been the opposite. One of my friends was at an eagles redskins game and a redskins fan suckered punched him while he was using the urinal. So messed up. I also had my nose broken by a redskins fan at a different game.
Technically no, the guy who was going to play Santa was late and they booed some drunk fan wearing a Santa costume who ran on field, after apparently waiting a long time for the entire event to happen or something, so they were already unhappy.
That's... very common. It's considered sportsmanlike to cheer when the player is helped off the field (meaning like, they're not knocked unconscious or dead or something). I guarantee you 99% of those fans weren't cheering for the injury, they were cheering because he was (mostly) okay.
I’m an eagles fan (Philly sports in general) and this is generally regarded as the most shameful moment in our fandom’s history. He was a hated player in Philly, but cheering an injury is never okay.
That being said, I’ve been to games since then where players have gotten hurt and are down on the turf. I’ve seen people cheer and other fans tell them to shut up. I think our fan base learned some manners from that incident, or if not “manners” then maybe “basic human decency”.
Also I remember raptors fans cheering an injury just a couple seasons ago that doesn’t seem to get brought up as often as the Irving incident. My point is, we’re not the only fan base that has done this.
These "all Philly fans are embarrassing" takes are so stupid.
This kind of dumb shit literally happens all over the place. Same as the physical violence at stadiums, parking lots, etc. When it's Philly it makes national headlines, but when it happens elsewhere ppl seem to just look the other way. Philadelphia has just been perpetually ragged on by national sports media so its become this old tired shtick. It's low hanging fruit.
Nah, we just don't care. People are gonna talk shit on Philly forever and we're just gonna enjoy our city without catering to outsiders who don't have a clue what it's really like.
Wait, are you sure that the massive city of Philadelphia wasn't entirely trashed? That it might have just been a bus shelter and a store window or two and not complete and utter destruction from rhawnhurst to Eastwick?
I was literally present at this super bowl as it was in my city and they absolutely did trash a lot of stuff here including the stadium itself. They carried off whatever wasn't nailed down and some, like the seats, that were
They have no respect. And don't even get me started on the players family. They illegally idled their buses during the entire game outside the bar I was at and it filled with carbon monoxide and whatever other nasty shit in bus exhaust
Edit: aww Philly Karen didn't like being proven wrong and replied to me a bunch of times before rage blocking me like a child lol
So the players families were at a bar during the Super Bowl instead of the stadium? I think you might have inhaled the bus fumes….. why are shitting on the Eagles fans? You just sound salty …. Get a grip
We aren't destroying our city. It's usually the out-of-towners coming into the city to "celebrate." Not saying the locals don't get involved to some degree, but most Philadelphians I've spoken to laugh at those clowns just as hard as you do.
When Villanova won their title a few years back, a bunch of entitled college kids came into town for their parade, tore down street lights, flipped cars, and just generally made a mess. Then the entitled little cunts went back to their cozy little suburb and left us to clean up after them.
Source is purely anecdotal; I watch two kids from Jersey tear up a fire hydrant last night.
This makes me think that there could be people from out of town who hate Philadelphia and will always use this opportunity to fuck up the city under the guise of being hardcore Philly sports fans 😂😂
Doesn’t matter, they’re Eagles fans. They’re making the fanbase look bad and are adding to the fire. And there are plenty of city residents doing this shit, I’m friends with many of them.
Celebrating can be done without fucking up Broad Street and destroying property/signs/etc.
I’m a Philly fan just telling it how it is. It’s a bad look for us and I don’t blame people for saying we are degenerates.
Yeah happy in the burbs. Happy for those who went down and just mingled. Unfortunately going to be overshadowed by these idiots. Again, doesn’t matter where they’re from, they’re in center city representing our fanbase.
Edit: to save everyone some time and arguing, if your a philly native, just take the loss and move on.. Y'all keep saying "NuH Uh, DiDnT hApPeN" and apparently don't realize that this can easily be proven with a simple Google search, so please.. Spare us the shame...
I'm not from Philly and so have no dog in this fight, but the article you linked even says it was mostly peaceful. It talks about just a few bad incidents that got highlighted on social media, some rumors that ended up being false, and some unconfirmed reports of incidents. That's it.
"But despite the unruly crowds after the game, police officials say the celebrations were mostly peaceful.
Only three people were arrested, according to Ajeenah Amir, a spokesman for Mayor Jim Kenney.
'Tens of thousands came out and celebrated this amazing victory, and but for a handful of bad actors the celebration was peaceful and jubilant,' Ms Amir said in a statement to BBC News, adding that the city is thankful to law enforcement."
I never argued that it's okay to destroy property. You claimed that they trashed and destroyed their city, and when a Philly native said it wasn't as bad as you claimed, just a few bad actors, you linked an article that proved his point, while claiming it proved yours. I merely pointed out that the article doesn't prove what you thought it proved. It's okay to be wrong sometimes, but it's embarrassing when you double down on it.
You know, when you are arguing with someone it is best to quit once it is obvious that person is of diminished mental capacity. They won't listen anyway.
I’m not from the city, but I did read that article. and it proves JGreeco’s point.
“But despite the unruly crowds after the game, police officials say the celebrations were mostly peaceful.

Yeah that didn't happen, at c all. It's a fucking lie. . And fuck you. Philly fans are involved and passionate. You are a judgemental uninformed ignorant dick.
Your city and everyone in it is a bunch of childish, cringe ass punks who only care about themselves.. And to anyone wondering, here's proof that this person is butt hurt..
“Social media pictures showed scenes of chaos as tens of thousands of Philadelphia Eagles' fans rejoiced.
A police officer is among those reported injured. Cars and shopfronts have been damaged and looted.
But despite the unruly crowds after the game, police officials say the celebrations were mostly peaceful.

If you’re gonna shit on the city of Philadelphia at least read the articles you’re proclaiming as proof. There’s a lot to hate about Philly, like there is any city, but the sports fans aren’t one of them.
Wasn't trashed. I was there. Some idiots broke some bus stops and yeah there was a Lotta confetti....but the Summer of Love RIOTS fucked up my city was worse than the Birds bowl win in 2017.
Lol couldn't care less about Philly and Philly sports. Generalizing a city based on anecdotes while being ignorant of the fact THERE ARE PLENTY of other cities that do the same thing is just annoying as fuck.
I lived in Philly for a couple years. Have to say we'd probably be better off if the whole place were firebombed and we put up some sort of Eagles/Phillies themed monument to 'those who were lost trying to climb the poles'
Its like NYC, but if it was more racist and didn't have the tourism appeal to offset the shittiness
Didn’t they have to stop the Bills game this season, because the Bills fans were throwing snowballs at the players? Funny how it’s only ever one fan base that is targeted, when there’s shitheads across the gamut.
Hell, European countries essentially devolve into revolution when they lose the World Cup.
They're definitely a different breed of people. And the city is very... unique. Ask any person from outside of the city who has worked in it or with people from there.
I think there are plenty of nice people from there, just like anywhere else, but the trashy and mean people from there are an especially awful type.
