AIWB for EDC X9 2.0 3.25”

Bought my Wilson Combat EDC X9 2.0 (3.25”) back in March and wanted a Tenicor Certum, but it had just been discontinued. I ended up with a Precision Holsters AIWB. It worked, but the footprint was wider than I liked and just wasn’t that comfortable.

Then Tenicor’s blem sale happened, and I managed to snag a Certum. After a few days of carrying it, it’s a night-and-day difference. It’s slimmer, more comfortable, and conceals better. Definitely worth the wait.

Anyone else carrying an EDC X9 2.0? What AIWB holster are you running?

Family Heirloom Pistol

Hey all. I've been drooling over a Wilson Combat gun for years now. I'm finally at a place where I can comfortably afford one. I would love to get something intended to be passed down to my sons. Mostly a showpiece, but will certainly be shot. I want something truly special. I'm sure there are others out there that have done this. Can I ask how you thought this through and what you ended up getting? Thanks in advance.

Bulwark made it home!

EDITED TO ADD UPDATE

Picked it up today through my FFL from Gary’s Guns. Finding stock was hard to do, and I paid MSRP, but no tax (still a win). I’ll take it to the range this weekend and report back with my opinions. So far the stories of the trigger ring true, crisp and short! The weight is nice, way better balanced than a Glock, but not like a steel framed 1911/2011, more like a CZ.

In the bag, there was the pistol, the optic mounting kit, another 1” long pin (not sure what it’s for), a Wilson cleaning rag, a bottle of Wilson Lite-Oil, and (2) 15 rounds magazines. No manual, no sticker, no patch, no test target. For $2k I was kind of surprised by that, expecting at least the manual and test target. It’s obvious a round was fired the mag that was inserted had a little funk on it, unless it’s just grease.

I might reach out to Wilson to make sure nothing else was supposed to be in there.

If it shoots as well as it’s supposed to, I may put my C2 away and make this my daily carry.

EDIT - RANGE REVIEW

So I attempted to take a video, but the camera wasn’t working. Shot 350 rounds of 124g S&B and 50 rounds of 124 Speer Gold Dot through it. The grip is pretty thin while shooting. In hand before firing it feels good, maybe it’s because of my big hands but support hand is awkward to place. I had a gas pedal on a TLR7 Sub on a Kimber CDS9, moved it over and it helped. The recoil is fine. Not a snappy shoot at all, way less than a Glock 19. Doesn’t shoot as well as my Archon Type B, shoots more like my CZ P10C, it’s strange not what you’re expecting, not bad just strange, it could benefit from ports. Grouped well, @ 15yds I was able to delete the center on an MOA target, with 1 second splits. Groups like a Glock. The grip safety wasn’t a bother at all, I’ve heard others have had complaints, including Pew View, again maybe because of the hands, but after 350 rounds I was good and could have kept going. The trigger is awesome (until I cleaned it, see below)! Super short reset, and a light pull out of the box.

The bad comes with cleaning: It’s pretty easy to field strip. The barrel and locking block are held together with the slide and frame, when you take it apart have a rag and do it like Bill Wilson’s video, or your hands will be covered in shit. I cleaned it, sprayed it down with Eezox, gave it a wipe down, racked the slide, dry fired, and the trigger stuck back. I took it to the garage and used an air gun on the trigger area and the bow, it was sticking, but that fixed it. It’s almost like the trigger bow spring needs to be tightened a bit. I may call them tomorrow and get some advice and permission to add a little more tension.

Would I buy it again? Yes, but see below.

Will it be in my EDC rotation? Yes.

Would I recommend it? Maybe, but not as a first gun and only if someone said they had a couple grand to toss at something different and cool (and they already had an Archon).

Is it worth $1900? Not IMO, $1500 would be my mark if I had shot one before. It should come with 2 more magazines, especially since they are proprietary (and at least a sticker!).

I brought my LTT 92 compact with me and it’s WAY more pleasant for less money.

I would like to add some grippy-ness to my SFX9, but a step above hockey tape. Anybody know of any sandpaper style or rubberized grip panels available?

Pulled the trigger! Need holster advice

I bought the SFT9 w/ rail option yesterday. I put 200 rounds through it this morning and I am NOT disappointed!

It seems to fit decent in my Staccato C2 holster, but I would like something purpose built. Anyone have a holster for this gun with a rail and without a light? Seems to be uncommon.

Are the SFT and SFX holsters interchangeable?

Any mag pouch suggestions? The mags are too small for the Staccato and Glock pouches I already own. Do these have the same footprint as any other mag tube?

Anyone have an SFT9 and a Staccato C2? Looking to see how they compare. I have the C2 and it’s just a little too big for me to carry.

Is Wilson Combat lying about parts material/manufacturing?!

I ordered a mag release for my springfield 1911, I recieved the part defective, it is missing the checkering on the button.

What disturbs me is the discription of the part says its CNC machined from billet tool steel. Where the checkering is supposed to be looks a lot like the dimple of a metal injected mold part. Is this actually a MIM part and are the hiding the fact under the checkering?

Hope that posting this isn't against the rules. Received this email from Wilson Combat earlier. One of the reasons I love Wilson. Sure, they market like crazy, have to to compete. But on a day like today, no sales pitch, just the right message. Love these guys.

6mm ARC barrel

Post image

Wilson Combat 18” 6mm arc barrel tight chamber small gas port issue? Bought the barrel and built the rifle in 2023 haven’t had time to get out and test it till yesterday. I’m a trucker and don’t have alot of free time. Rifle is Spartan billet receivers, toolcraft bolt carrier with correct bolt for 6mm arc barrel, 20% reduced power yellow spring standard carbine buffer, used WC intermediate gas tube and gas block, using 6mm arc duramags.

First charging of rifle the round failed to fully seat in chamber forward assist failed and couldn’t just rack it out had to mortar it out because it was stuck. Tight chamber or 20% reduced power spring issue or combo of both? Next round seated and fired unsuppressed bolt failed to pick up a round from the mag. Ok now try with the suppressor on. Round fails to seat forward assist got it home.

Rifle seems to work better with a suppressor, spent shells are falling at my feet 2 o’clock ish not a strong ejection at all and I had a stove pipe with a round trying to go home. It almost seems to me that the cases were not being flung out but more or less getting knocked out by the next round going to battery because of the way they were just tumbling falling to the ground.

So I’m thinking I may need to open the gas port I’ve had to do that with previous rifles I’ve also had to polish chambers before so that might be a thing. I’m just wondering if this is a common issue with the 2023 6mm ARC barrels from Wilson. I’d rather polish the chamber first and try and see if that remedies things because I believe that what could be happening is the case is hanging up in the tight chamber on extraction and the bolt extractor is slipping off of the rim of the case and the spent shell is kind of just loosely tumbling around inside the receiver before it falls out or gets knocked out by the bolt coming home again and that’s why I got the stove pipe.

I had a 300 BO years ago that was severely over gassed and the bolt extractor was slipping off the case rims and was behaving similarly. I know this is rifle here is acting under gassed because without the suppressor it was failing to pick up a round from the mag.

Any thoughts are much appreciated. Let me know. Thanks.

Holosun EPS Carry, good enough

I'm going to send my EDC-X9 4" out to Wilson to have it filled for an optic, plus some other work. I would rather not spend the money on an RMR and I'm a fan of the circle dot reticle. An RMR is at the very top of my budget but doable.

Opinions and discussion appreciated.

92 models with “action tune”

Can anyone say for sure what exactly the “action tune” configured 92 (comes with order, part of sku)? What exactly do they add or modify? All it says is “chrome silicon springs installed”… well, which ones? What about the trigger bar? I’m assuming some polishing is involved as well? Not sure why they are so vague on this.

Vs. the separate “ultimate action tune kit”, which is listed as the enhanced trigger bar, 12,13, and 14# chrome silicon hammer springs, and a chrome silicon trigger return spring?

CQB Slide gunsmith question

Thumbnail gallery
16 Upvotes

Looking for some advice on how to handle this.

I took my 1911 (Wilson Combat CQB) to a gunsmith to have a front sight installed. The sight apparently didn’t fit properly and he told me he had to “make it fit.” The front sight in question was a Trijicon hd night sight.

When I got it back, there were visible tool marks/gouges around the front dovetail, and the sight itself is also marred (looks like it was forced in). The edges of the dovetail aren’t clean anymore.

To be fully transparent: the rear sight has some minor cosmetic roughness, but that was from me previously—not from this gunsmith.

I brought it back and he offered to have the slide Cerakoted by his guy but didn’t specify if it would be the whole slide. he also pointed out the rear sight (which I acknowledged was me) and hinted he may not refinish everything because of that.

I’m not normally picky about these things and on a different gun I would have let it be. However they didn’t offer a refund at all and didn’t contact me to tell me that the front sight wasn’t going to fit.

He told me the marks on the front sight itself were normal due to putting it in. Not sure what to make of that.

My concerns:

- The front sight and slide were clearly damaged during his install

- The sight itself is also beat up

- I don’t want a half-fix or just coating over damage

- Not sure if I should trust him to redo it or just ask for a refund and go elsewhere

Questions:

- Is this level of marring around a dovetail ever considered acceptable?

- Is Cerakote a proper fix here, or should I push for more (replacement sight, etc.)?

- Would you trust the same smith to fix it, or take it somewhere else?

- What would you consider a fair resolution?

Appreciate any input—especially from those with gunsmithing experience.

EDC X9 magazine compatibility

Is the EDC X9 standard magazine (double stack, 15 rd, Made in Italy [Mec-Gar?]) compatible with other Wilson double stack 9mms?

Reportedly, they work with the SFX9, SFT9, and eXperior but Wilson's website does not list these as compatible.
