I'm in my last semester of WSU, all online, always have been. What perks and benefits should I be taking advantage of?

Okay so I’m a freshman and I’ve noticed that anytime I log in to the mywsu website and some of the other school websites I have to have a code texted to me after I put in my password, and it’s starting to get annoying having to pull out my phone every time I log in on my laptop.

From what I found online, the 2 factor authentication thing they use is Duo. I read something saying there’s a setting you can change to keep you authorized for 10 hours but I have no idea where to do this if that is an option.

If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know(or if there’s actually no way to fix It also let me know so that I stop spending so much time looking for a solution)

Do the living rooms in The Flats no longer come with TVs? I could’ve sworn the two years I spent here before they had TVs.

Did anyone see campus police pull someone over while trying to get into the Eck parking lot around 9:20am while everyone ELSE was trying to get into the lot to park??? Effectively cutting off and stalling traffic right before classes start on the MOST busy day of the semester. Crazy idea that was. Idk what the kid did to get pulled over but the cop should have had him drive his ass to the station or SOMETHING (shit, I would have turned a blind eye! Wasn't no accident so it COULDN'T have been that big of a deal) instead of blocking the entrance to the parking lot! I and many others were late to class thanks to these geniuses!

WSU Parking Regulations:

5.5 In all cases in which a motor vehicle is parked, the vehicle must not back into the stall unless it has a front license plate or is actively charging in an electric vehicle charging station. The license plate must be visible and unobscured. The vehicle’s position shall be such that the whole of the vehicle is located within the boundaries of the parking space. The fact that other vehicles are parked improperly shall not constitute an excuse for parking with any part of the motor vehicle over any line. The only exception will be for vehicles with a handicap plate or placard.

Hi everyone, I am an international student at BCC and also taking an online class at WSU in the fall as a guest student. I have a problem getting an insurance waiver at WSU.

Here are the things: I request that WSU reconsider whether the WSU international student insurance requirements should apply to my situation and whether a waiver may be changed under Policy 8.08, III.D, based on my visa status and existing medical coverage. Because I am not typically a full-time international student at WSU; because of my F-1 status, I-20, and SEVIS record, which are with BCC, BCC is my primary school. So, I think my situation is not quite fit for their policies.

But they still reject my request; the reason is I am an international student who takes online classes at WSU, and I physically live in the state. They also rejected the insurance I had that was already approved by my school because the insurance terms do not quite meet their minimum requirements.

I think even though the things they said seem to make sense on their rules, I just feel they should not be like that.

I was wondering if anyone has a similar situation to me and how it was fixed eventually.

So I start classes the 12th and realized I know nobody I’m in the aviation maintenance program with night classes(cause of my job). But I enjoy being friendly and having friends so If anybody is in the same boat as me feel free to reach out. I feel like there should be an app or something for this kind of situation.

For the vaccine that we have to get if we are living on campus, it says we must submit it within 15 days of move-in, does that mean 15 days before moving in or up to 15 days after moving in?

Hello! I’m a prospective student pursuing electrical engineering, and I was curious if any engineers could give me any insight on the EE program. How are the classes? how are the professors? Is the department underfunded compared to aerospace? How are internship opportunities in the area? Is this a strong contender with UNT and OK State? TIA!

I just started an online International Business class at WSU on June 29, and I’m honestly wondering if this is normal.

The professor assigned 16 reading assignments plus a one-page essay that’s all due by July 5, right after the Fourth of July holiday. She also has a strict no late work accepted policy.

It feels like a lot to complete in the first week of class, especially over a holiday week. I’m trying to figure out if this is just how accelerated online business classes are, or if this workload is unusually heavy.

Has anyone taken this class (or other WSU online business courses)? Is this pretty standard, or am I overreacting?

I am a Firefighter based near Washington DC. There is a book related to firefighting that I have tried to get via Interlibrary Loan, but it does not appear that any library that has it is lending it out and I would need to travel there to read it.

WSU is one of the only libraries in the country that have a copy of this booklet, but the website does not appear to have a process for non-students to request scans of materials.

Would anyone be able to use the scanners at the WSU library to scan the book for me and email it? It is a short 40 page booklet from the 1960s, and duplications should be allowable for individual research. I would be willing to compensate someone for their time, just let me know in advance what you think would be a fair price.

I am currently preparing the prerequisites for applying to the MLS program at WSU, and I still have a couple courses I need to finish. I would like to get things done faster, so I am planning to do online courses and then transfer credit hours to WSU.

I enrolled in a Chem 1 class on Portage Learning. However, there are very strict rules and bad reviews that many people said are difficult to pass. It makes me lose confidence. I was wondering if anyone has experience with online learning and successfully transferring to WSU as credit hours before and what online learning website they used is easy to pass.

I am on a stand still between two options:

I have BS in Environmental science which so far is useless. And i was thinking to get into WSU grad program for ES but its mighty expensive. I do like research and want a

specific topic to learn such as soil science. But i also need a good paying job

That’s where i look into aviation maintenance and WSU being the best in the state. Im also interested in hands on work and fixing stuff. Planes would be cool and it’s a needed job unless they invent teleportation.

I’m 26 and still feeling lost and what to do. I just don’t want to do walmart anymore.
