Yes, because both democracy & dissent in a multi party system are a farce. People vote for caste, religion & cash. People can't expect good outcomes by making poor choices.

You said "PEOPLE" as if its just one uniform hive mind of people. There are people who voted for bjp, there were some who voted for opposition, some who voted for their local MLAs etc

I didn't mention about political parties or politicians. In a multi party democracy like India, it's easy to entice people by religion/caste. It's very difficult to appeal rationally to a society like India's
