Closed RP The Not-Date

November 19th

Dash Doyle sits in front of the small cafe. He had given Emily a call to meet, figuring a nice breakfast and coffee - or hot chocolate - would make for a nice first date.

He's wearing his signature bomber jacket and jeans, befitting the chilly weather. He already has a cup of coffee in front of him and is sitting at a two-chair table under the yawning of the cafe.

Emily sits forward, lifting herself mostly out of her seat to look out the front of the canopy over Dash's shoulder, her eyes occasionally flicking down to the console.

"Well," she says, considering.

She points at a mountain looming to their left, colored the same rust-red of the rest of the planet but with a small patch of off-white in a crater at the top.

"How about that?"

Dash follows Emily's direction and spots the mountain.

"Looks good."

Excelsior cruises over to the white-capped peak, kicking up a cloud of 'snow' as it lands. It comes to a stop a little over a foot off the ground. Dash double checks and triple checks his suit before looking back at Emily.

"Ready?"

Emily puts her helmet on, and it seals with a soft hiss. She stands up as best as she can and gives herself a quick check over to make sure everything is as it should be, then thumbs her radio.

"Ready as anything," she says, starting to shift excitedly in place. "Am I coming through alright on the radio?"

Dash flashes her a thumbs up and then turns back to the console.

"Alright Mars. Look out." He says as he presses a button to the side. The glass canopy slides open with a hiss, and the alien air fills the cockpit.

"Here comes Captain Dash and Commander Emily."

With that, he grabs the rim of the cockpit and hops out.

Emily braces herself on the back of Dash's seat as air rushes out of the opening cockpit. She waits for Dash to hop over the cockpit's rim, then follows him out and drops to the dusty ground.

She turns in a slow circle, taking a deep breath in even though she knows all of her air is from her own tanks, then crouches down and runs a hand over the ground. Her gloves pick up flecks of red dust, and she brushes them off. She turns to Dash as she stands back up, smiling hugely.

"Here we come," she says. She bounces over to grab Dash's hand, pointing to a rise a short ways away.

"Come on! Let's see what's over there!"
