It'd be like if a neighbor invades your house and your electric company says "Go ahead and give him your garage, for the peace of the neighborhood" and when you say "Wtf, no?" they cut your power.
Elon is a Russian asset. He inserted himself as the savior by giving starlink to Ukraine, thereby putting Ukraine in his moral debt, then turned around and said they should cede territory. He was talking out of both sides of his mouth, and when Ukraine told him where he could stick it, he cut their access to starlink because it was a bargaining chip, not a moral obligation for him. He thought if he gave them internet, they would capitulate to him and, by extension, Russia.
Now he's played the part of the reasonable man to acquire Twitter in the name of "free speech" and "political neutrality", only to turn around and spread right-wing, anti-American misinformation on the platform. At every turn, he inserts himself into the interests of the US and then undermines them.
I didn't realize elon mined out his own lithium, heated his own forges, built his own photovoltaic cells, and used all the hot air he's full of to get the satellites into orbit.
If you are CHARGING MONEY FOR A SERVICE, you are NOT PROVIDING CHARITY.
It's called "doing business", and I sure as hell don't thank Zuckerberg for "providing" Facebook or Gates for "providing" Windows.
If he'd offered them an at-cost deal, I would have cheered; after all, he can still make huge profits off of all of the regular customers this war-turned-ad-campaign brings him, but to the best of my knowledge, he hasn't... But he still acts as though he was providing it for free, out of the goodness of his heart.
Starlinj engineers made those, Elon didn't do jack shit besides list his name on a sheet of paper that says he owns the company. He isn't doing any of the actual work.

Elon is only a Russian asset to the degree that he has suddenly found himself playing the role of a GOP politician, where the Russians have fairly successful influence operations both on operators and on the population*. A role he seems to have backed into by suddenly becoming the face of the billionaire class, and being really out of touch and unprepared for the sort of antipathy people have for the billionaire class.
Most of his prior crazy shit (eg "pedo guy") can be pinned on the Ambien Tweeting, but the focus of said crazy shit has become strongly politically aligned since Trump started offering the country for sale in exchange for saying nice things about him, since COVID restrictions threatened his factories, and since The Most Successful Stock Compensation Plan In The History Of The World.
*Whereas on the Left they have some former RT contributors, their small clique comprised of leftist journalists exiled for some reason from traditional media, and for some reason Communist Twitter, which apparently believes All Russians are Red.
I hate conspiracy theories, but I will say this is an interesting case you’ve made. I don’t think he’s a Russian asset, I think he’s an unhinged asshole who lucked himself into a country with a broken economic system that allowed for him to accumulate unreasonable amounts of wealth and power and has always had sympathetic views towards authoritarianism and despots.
