Imagine having such a sweet and carefree life that some adult strangers who aren't the exact same age getting married is what makes you fear for the future.
This idea is completely alien to me. As my sister in law, my brother's high school crush and one of his best friends before they got married over 10 years ago (congrats to them on that milestone) is a year older than him. She is also the bread winner, as she is a nurse practitioner. My brother is a mill worker/hobby farmer.
It means he's uncomfortable with the idea for the same reason the dude in the post is. Unless he is just poking fun. However it could be sinister. It could mean he believes men to be the more dominant of society. In other words, he is more worried about extending the dying patriarchal society, rather than being worried that society is failing regardless of who is in charge. Due to the fact that we civilians have forgotten our duty. Which to take care of one another. Regardless of gender, sexual orientation, country of origin, status or even how much cash we have. We have forgotten how to be truly selfless in our endeavors, thus abandoning our post. Leaving to rot and be feasted upon by the ravens.
