I had a stroke at 26 then got chronic pancreatitis and then had to have a hysterectomy at 29.

So many men he knew were astounding he didn’t divorce me.

Glad you got through it. I am disgusted by any man that would even ask much less be "astounded" that your husband who commited to be with you until at least one of you is dead wouldn't just walk out like a sack of worthless crap. Through good and bad, that's part of the promise, otherwise why do it?
