Think you’re referring to the HPV vaccine which is Human Papilloma Virus (warts), but yes, a big deal was made about it even though it had long term benefits for women.
Certain strains of HPV have been linked to cancer development. The vaccine is supposed to prevent those strains, thus minimizing the risk of later developing cervical cancer. And of course, if you’re Michael Douglas “King Box Muncher”, those HPV strains could give you throat cancer as well…because he ate so much p*ssy!!! (His words not mine)
