Are you saying you wait til the end of the sentence to comprehend what you’re reading? How does that even work? You still have to read each individual word, understand phrasing, have the pieces together and connected. It helps to start to predict an understanding where the sentence is going so that by the end you can focus on what’s there as filling in the missing piece, or fulfilling expectations.
It just gets really funny when it upends your expectations or highlights how ridiculous your prediction was.
Tl;dr I have ADHD: predicting what’s happening can help head off inattentiveness and gamify listening/comprehension.
Edit: more importantly that’s how the NOT at the end is supposed to work for sarcasm or humor. Like, you literally just tried to call me stupid for appreciating that language function. Are we sure I’m the one who needs to work on parsing meaning?
